I have a PE tank that has always leaked from the pin and i'm sick of it. Is there a way to SAFELY fix it myself? The cracked gauge works and doesn't leak, it broke on the first fill 5 years ago...:wall:

When it comes to high pressure tanks, I always recommend having it looked at rather than doing it yourself. Even the simple stuff. Its just not worth the $5-$10 to risk injury or death if done incorrectly.

Send it in if you have any warranty left. If not, this would be a good oppurtunity to replace it with a Guerilla air ambush reg, or a Crossfire reg. IMHO, those two are the best regs out there.

I agree, I sent my old 114 CI 3000 PSI tank to Crossfire and they did a replacement reg...it was on a ***** ***** reg and cradle....thank go I got rid of that thing!

The people at Crossfire will hook you up in a heartbeat. Go to their site. www.crossfireinc.com

PE tanks have a tendancy to o so. It is made so that the pin valve is 100% user serviceable. You do not need to take the reg apart or anything. The pin valve spring can work it's way into an odd position sometimes. If you do not know what you are doing, find an airsmith, safety first.

You could also try to giggle the pin a bit with the eraser end of a pencil. That helps sometimes.

The leak has to do with the spring and air pressures on the pin valve. Both of My PE regs did this out of box. Fairly easy fix and it is not a major issue to begin with, unless you are talking about a big leak. The leaks I had were tiny.

Look at the manual on the PMI site.

Mine did the same thing. I kept spare o-rings for the pin and reg piston. When it started leaking, I just changed them out and that would fix it for a while.

In the end I got sick of doing that and bought a Guerrilla air assault. Awesome reg and NEVER leaks.
