Barrels......I have pre 2007 post 2003 Scepter kits. They are the best I have found for me. I'll seen the DW Fibur barrels and I'm impressed, although you use ** freak inserts it is still a solid system. The last is REDs Pepperstick kit, long control bore and easy to use. Definately get some more opinions and shoot a few if possible before you buy.

Lastly, you could go to PBReview.com and look at the barrel reviews, remember to read the terrible reviews critically as most people will write how they like their gear. Just my :twocents:

I like the dye ultralites. I am a converted freak fan, but that is a smart parts product. So I refuse to buy it now.

I never tried a barrel kit, as there are none in my town. I have:

-stock minimag barrel
-unknown (10")
-Lapco Bigshot (10")
-32* carbone fiber (12")
-CP (12")
-All American (14")

I love the carbone fiber although i still haven't tried the Lapco and minimag barrel. It's light and durable and the most accurate of the four, the metal end is made of SS so the grooves don't wear.

i'd like to try the poison arrow kit, but unfortunately its out of my price range.
its always cool when your barrel can transform a little. :ooo:

I have a feak back with freak fronts,

I use a hammerhead front with freak backs

i use a wwa with feark back

I have a reds pepperstick

and a sanchez machining barrel set.

Looks aside they all shoot the same with correct barrle to paint matching.

Personal choice, SM1 followed by hammerhead freak combo

I've always had a really good time with my CCM carbon kit. I run that on anything I happen to be shooting that has cocker threads. Then there's my phantom which I run almost always with a microshot from lapco. I love that barrel.

My favorite barrel? One that shoots straight:smarty:

Long ago, a salesman told me there are really only 2 kinds of barrels...good & ****ty.

Everything else is a matter of preference: Features, price, looks, length, bore, kit, individual barrel, etc etc.

For a 2 piece barrel, I use the CP kit.
For a 1 piece barrel, I prefer the Bob Longshot. Dunno why but thing gives the impression of shooting darts. Could be all in my head though.

I second this. I'm definitely partial to the PPS Brass. I shoot it on my E-Mag and it's an amazing combination :D

Hey:

I like Kaner Kits, DW Fibur Barrel, DYE Barrels (preferably Boomstick or Ultralite) and Palmer's brass if you have the cash and can take the weight.

Most barrels are 'decent' I typically find that the barrel either shoots well or shoots like ****.

Honestly, I never get too crazy about barrels...
Stock mags: Stock Barrels
Zgriped Supermag: Dye Xcel- $8
EPMag: CP one piece -$? was on clearance though
"Intelligent Portions Jolter SFT": Stock "Completely United Statesian" barrel
Pump Cocker: Check-It JR-3 (came w/ it)
A4Fly: Stock and Check-It JR-3 (came w/ it)

I see no point in spending lots of money on barrels. I thought about some kits (Pepperstick kits for all three thread type I own, not including twist-lock), but I have never really had a problem with accuracy to a degree that I could not hit my target within a few shots :shoot:

Overall consistency is the key. As long as you have a decent reg, valve/hammer (if applicable), decent barrel, properly lube, and replace parts when needed, the marker will perform well. Sure size matching improves on these, but I'd rather just slap a decent mid-sized tube on my gun and play the game. I may not get the best performance ever recorded in the history of the world, but I do get better performance out of my guns than most of the kids with kids at the field I play at.

I use the 13.5" RACE version of the Sanchez Machine Barrel kit - Longer control bore, reverse threaded, ported nicely

I got one a few years back, and at one point had 3 full sets, now I am down to abotu a kit and a half.

I'll look around, I think I lost all mine, I have found that putting the insert on the gun, and then putting the rest on afterwards is much easier.

I love my White Wolf Airsmithing justice series barrels, they take freak inserts. I have one that is 10" and my other is my favorite, its cut down to 6". It is just long enough for the insert to fit into, its loud as all get out and easy to switch sides of the bunker with.

I just picked up a J&J Edge Elite kit for my Invert Mini and ULE'd Mag. Only got to shoot em twice, but they seem good enough for me.

I love the WGP Kaner kit!!! Best barrel kit I have ever owned. It is simple and works well. the only down side is they don't make it anymore and, sometimes it needs some teflon tape to keep it from unscrewing from the vibration of the gun shooting.

Hey Mann, was it you who had the long standing WTB thread about wanting as many tubes and kits as possible for testing purposes? Was collection before or after that thread, if it was you that I am thinking of...

What was the result, if it was you that did the tests?

That was before the thread. I now use a TI longbow. We had somewhere around 40 different barrel kits (that doesnt include the doubles), and probally 12 random barrels. I am still doing data crunching. I have a thread on PBN, and will later make one here later.

do you have any twistlock but with center "vert" feed?

Just use a 1/8" drill bit on the R/L feed ones, and they are instantly center feed.

I used to use a CCM 16" kit. Then I thought I'd try out the J&J edge kit that I got with my 1st X-mag (bout 2 years ago) I totally fell in love with it and use it on all my guns now. I even have a centerfeed twistlock J&J edge kit for one of my sydarms- the other 2 have CF freak backs that work pretty good as well. I usually use the 10" tip as my favorite cause I like to stay compact. I also have an additional freak kit as a back-up for any of my loaners. I haven't tried out any other kits yet but I'm content so far.

I personally prefer the stock Dye Matrix barrels. Simple lines and made from the same stock as the Ultra lites. And, you can ususally find them for about 5 to 10 bucks. I have them on almost every gun that I customize. Shoot great and are quiet to boot.

I am with papa on this one, I used to like the Smart Parts and now I do not own anything Smart Parts. I have really liked the Sly barrel kit! I have two complete kits 1- 14" and 1- 16" and they work great! I have used most of the brands mentioned and have settled on the Sly.

For me the Scepter 7 pc kit is tops.

But when I run a pump against BigEvil at the "HYPERPIPE SMACKDOWN" I'll just use an old 3" piece of pvc tubing because it won't take much to shoot him out:D http://www.pblegion.com/showthread.php?t=81
