I know not everyone is into sci-fi but I'm sure most have seen a sci-fi show/movie that they have liked.

Star Wars... by far. What it was and did at the time of it's release changed the world. The marketing was cutting edge and the effects spawned an entire industry that is still growing today. I say that without Star Wars (and ILM as a result) you might not have most of those other shows/movies.

Star Trek, Star Wars, Stargate, and Firefly
I like them all.
Startrek is great. It's the future. I can spend all day doing nothing but watching startrek. Voyager is my fav.
Starwars is just epic. it never gets old.
Stargate and Firefly are good, and I like them, but they are no startrek or starwars.

It's easy to say star wars when you discount the 3 prequils. After watching Mr. Lucas butcher E1 really left a sour taste in my mouth.
Of course, the BEST sci fi in the last 25 years has been (the new) Battlestar Galactica. Hands down.
EDIT - I just noticed that Babylon 5 is missing from this list. Great show.

I'm going with Farscape as well, but I tend to watch all of them.

I finally decided to add my vote and it was Stargate.
And it's kinda sad that "Sci-fi" sucks is tied for second.

I voted Firefly because Star Wars already had a ton of votes. Star Wars is definitely bigger and was more revolutionary, though. And yes, Episodes I-III were absolute crap. Episode I sucked terribly, Episode II sucked a little less and Episode III almost didn't suck.

Yeah, except the prequels showed that lucas really shouldn't direct.:wall:

I'm not that much of a sci-fi guy. Technicly, having only seen the star wars movies out of the ones suggested, I have no choice but to choose that one.
