I don't have an "offcial" list of what I can and can't do, but what it mostly boils down to is just time. I'm a full time Engineering student so that comes first and foremost and any other time I have left over gets devoted to working in the shop machining stuff. Right now things are going pretty smoothly this semester but I'm sure the heat will get turned up in the coming weeks. Summer is pretty much my time to really dig into projects when I'm only taking one class, but I can fit in small stuff usually anytime during school. These mag rails are great because they hardly take any time to set up and are pretty quick to run through.

My shop equipment includes a manual lathe and a small CNC mill which really lets the imagination go to work. Again, thanks for everyone being so nice and I really look forward to helping out on your projects.

Finally another machinist to talk to!
What machines do you have?

Sent you an e-mail about a rail and body (green warp left ULE) that I would like to have machined.

LMK.

Thanks,

Mendel - got your email and am working on a reply

Papa_Smurf - I have an import 9x20 lathe and a Taig 2027 CNC mill. They're small machines but almost perfectly suited towards paintball-sized work. I've also go all the other usual shop equipment, though next on the list is a (much needed) bandsaw. What do you have hanging around the shop?

Also here's a thread about my shop on another really good forum, Tinkering Tech.

Andy;

You get that Chaos board stuff worked out?

I have to wait till Sam gets back from his surgery for me to get anything replaced on my end.

Coolhand has 20 of the same boards we got,... 19 of them are bad.

Sucks.

He's sooo close to being done.

Yeah, got that worked out a while ago. I think I have enough boards to cover the installs I've got lined up so I should be fine on that. I saw CoolHand's work on the frames - very nice indeed. Sucks about them being bad, but thats life. Sam is a good guy and he'll get everything taken care of for sure.

Did you end up making your own eye covers or you go with something else for your converstions?

I use Worrblade eye covers. I had used Eclipse Eblade covers, but stopped making those some time ago.

Hey this is Randall, I met you at a AO:MO/IL day a few years ago and you milled a pump channel in a classic rail for me. That rail worked great and is still being used as a pump by another magger I think. Anyway welcome to the site:cheers:

I have a sherline lathe and 8 way mill, and a small manual mill.

I'll start a tool and shop show off thread here in a while.
