ok, the most i've ever spent on a barrel kit was 110.00 (hammerhead) and believe me i was kicking myself in the *** for it. :wall:
is a barrel really worth that much money? i don't care what your using it for whether it be; every other weekend on your local field just to dominate your local comrades, or winning the biggest tournament in the nation.
i do under stand that some barrels aren't made equal. my opinion is..........a barrel is a barrel (if its the same length). i also shoot the 8" armson. i love that little stub!!
i just saw a barrel kit that a guy was trying to sell for about 200.00 and really had to ask myself that question.................
..............can a barrel kit really be worth 200.00??????
input......

I would say no, with some great kits like the Bob Long Marq kit, Pepper Stickz kit, and several others for around $100 There is no reason to spend more than that. Some barrels are better than others, but if it has a good finish on the inside and a good paint to barrel match it doesn't really matter if its a Dye or a Taso.

true, the finish inside is a big contributing factor. also the paint size matching the bore size will help alot.
i guess the rest of the money that is spent on the barrel kit is for the costumer to parade around with some big companies name on the long piece of aluminum thats sticking out of their marker. (its a blessing for all the rich kids in this industry!!)
i've always felt like the armson riffling did something good for the paintball. but a can't honestly say i compared it next to another barrel at the same time. maybe it was the noobs i was shooting at, that were sooooo easy to pick off :p .

with matching to paint ability all being equal, i go for style and looks. Also for compatibility.
I have numerous differnt tips, a hammerhead, freak, wwa, dye, that will go with any of my markers as i have freak backs for all of them.
I have a sm1. I would be interested in buying a another full kit but doubtful i would spend over about 150 on it.
