This thread shall be dedicated to the awesomeness of guns.
Guns discussions of all kinds are welcome, pics are encouraged, and videos praised.
If it has to do with guns lets keep it here!
So I'll start this thread on a sad note (then it can only get better):
My desert eagle broke last Saturday. http://www.ar15.com/images/smilies/icon_smile_dissapprove.gif
It was injured valiantly asploding a pumpkin and goes under the knife soon for rehabiltation.
Currently it's getting some R&R.

Here's a link to a thread that I posted. Its better suited over here. As you can see, you can use any weapon platform you like. AK's , AR15's , M1A1's, ect. The rules manytimes dictate what weapon is best for the intended event....

I like to plan ahead for what I'm going to buy in the long run.
My next few planned purchases will be a Glock 19 with suppressor in january.
I'll then get a 9mm SBR (maybe just an upper) to share the suppressor.
I do need a shotgun so an 870 Express or idgrade over/under is on the list too.
All the while I'll be keepin my eye out for a MAC 11/9 smg that is LNIB for ~$3k and snatch that up.
I'm more of a pistol guy myself, but I do have plans for an AR10 in the distant future (not so distant if an AWB happens in '08).
After that all my gun money will be going into maintaining/upgrading the weapons and buying ammo.

Most of these firearms were purchased in the early 90's during the Clinton/Feinstein era. I don't need a backyard full of them :p so I don't plan on purchasing any more. There's plenty there to go boom when I feel the need to blast holes in cans or paper.

No, not gay. But you should at least own a .22 if you actually like the idea of shooting. The best way to get into the hobby is to go to your town's Police Dept and get an application for a Firearms ID card. Providing you're NOT a convited felon, phsyco, drug dealer, wife abuser, ect... you can then get a very nice and CHEAP .22 rifle to plink with at the range or wherever its legal. .22 caliber ammo is usually 500 rnds for under $12. Its a great way to start.
I love shooting my .22's almost as much as the "hotter" guns I run. Almost ;) .
BTW -- I upgraded my 870P with a shotshell holder from Mesa Tactical and lower profile micro dot from Burris. This is going to be my "3 gun" setup. Now all I have to do is put in the trigger time...

This is a Remington LTR it shoots one hole groups at 100yds. and just under 4" at 600yds. This is the most accurate factory rifle I have ever owned. I dont even reload for this gun but she only shoots 168 grain Federal Gold medal Match.
http://img108.imageshack.us/img108/6470/2006ltr308ij9.jpg (http://imageshack.us)
This is another project that I have finished its a Blueprinted Remington action chambered in 243wssm this gun I have just found the node in the barrel and load that she is starting to like. She is holding about 3" at 750yds. I am still working on seating depth and she seems to be a little finicky in this area. I am shooting 107smk's but have just ordered some of the new 115 DTach's with a much higher B.C. She is also sporting a new Nightforce scope 5.5X15X56mm that is not in the pic.

I had this rifle built by Mike Lau who served with Chandler in military snipers unit. Mike has his own shop and builds these rifles with all his knowledge this was not a normal build for him as I wanted a 338 Ultra Mag instead of some little 308 round and this how it came out. Probably next year I will change the barrel and make this gun into a 338 Edge instead of leaving it a Ultra Mag.

Nice precision tools you have there Wooky. That LTR is actually on my short list of things to get. I like the short barrel on a bolt action idea. I'm thinking of matching the Leupold Mk4 LR/T with the TMR reticle with that gun when I'm ready: http://www.swfa.com/pc-6143-311-leupold-25-8x36-mark-4-mrt-30mm-riflescope.aspx
Thanks for sharing.

That is funny that you say that as that piece of glass has the TMR in it and it is a Zeiss scope.
PS Be very careful when you select one as some do not shoot very good at all. In fact I bought its little sister at the same time in a 223 and at 100yds you have well been shooting a shotgun! When I got back from the range I traded it and never replaced it... with another LTR anyway.
Good luck
I do most of my work so if you ever need anything feel free to hit me up.
Thanks

After seeing all those nice pics, i wish the laws wouldn't be as strict here. I passed my FAC (firearm acquisiton certificat) for hunting riffles and shotguns this summer. To own handguns, you need to pass a different one after completing the FAC witch is even more expensive. We even have to register every firearm in our possession.

Sorry for the delayed response... but yes, a hermaphrodite deer. I got down from my stand and kicked it in the arse. It did not move, so I prepered to field dress. It is a tradition to hang the twanger and plumbs from the nearest tree branch that is about 6' high:cool:, so I go to remove those for relocation. Strange as it sounds, I was not able to locate the aforementioned anatomical parts. I look a pit harder and find the twanger, which is about the size of my pinky finger from tip to first knuckle. The testis were about the size of peanut M&Ms:scratchhead: I thought it was weird but continued on to the dressing. Upon inspecting the abdomen, I noticed that it had mammaries. After I pulled out the uterus, I noticed the deer's vagoo:eek: It was madness... my uncle saw the antlers (which were still in velvet in late November) and he started going off about how my "buck" was a <3. It was--by far--the most interesting time I have had hunting.

Ok, I don't have any pictures of my favorite gun, so a stock photo will have to do...
http://www.davesguns.com/serverpics/UsedPage/NEFPartner-01.jpg
The reason this is my favorite gun is that it was brand new, and FREE! God do I LOVE WV! A little story... I purchased a house and land in Glenville, WV, in 1999. That Christmas, I went out there and was talking to the realestate agent that sold me the property. He commented that he had a computer "issue". I said... I do that for a living, want me to take a look? Long story short... an hour later he has a fixed computer, and I am trying to head out.
He asks me what I want for doing the work. I reply, nothing, just being friendly. He asks is there is anything I need for the house. I joking say that I could really use a shotgun. He says hang on a second, and returns with a brand spanking new New England single barrel break open, and a couple of boxes of shells! I insist that I can't accept something like that. He then says it was a Christmas present for his nephew, but the "idiot stole my truck!"
All said and done, I was 1 shotgun, 2 boxes of shells, 10 pounds of deer meat, and 50 pounds of potatoes richer! I love WV!
