So my pump mag is almost done. YAY! I do have one problem however. The °° barrel with the splash kit it not that great of a barrel. It's a very large bore and the local field uses very small paint. Needless to say this make the marker really inaccurate. So I'm thinking of a couple of ways to fix the problem.

1. Buy a twist lock freak kit and try to get someone to ano it the same.

2. Try to find someone that will mod the barrel I have to a freak tip.

3. buy a twistlock to cocker adapter. Use one of my Cocker barrels (wont match)

4. Buy a few different twistlock barrels and try to get a few different bore sizes.

Or if you have a different idea share it please.

First you have to be honest in what you built this marker for.

This Classic RT has had something like $1500 invested into it all said and done. This is probably the single largest money sink into any marker I have. Not only that but a Classic RT is at best what? $150? $120? But I didn't care. I wanted a jewel; I wanted something that was JUST what I wanted in both appearance and performance. That thing is fast as hell and I think it's one of the prettiest markers I have ever owned. I spent close to $300 on the ano and have 5 complete matching barrels and a warp bracket to match it.

Ill never get even 1/3 my money out of it and I know that. But I decided I wanted that.

This excal I am making now is a different story. Ill have it tuned and cleaned up and working wonderful but Im not going to spend money getting it all ano matched or milled or customized in the appearance aspect (I say yet because I might be eating my own words in a year or 2).

I want this marker to be functional. I want it to perform magnificent but if it doesn't match up, Im ok with that. Im not interested in spending $600 more to have it milled and anoed and color matched right now so I won't fuss if I cannot find an all black barrel kit for it because Im going to wait for a good deal on a used one.

So that is what I think about when I read your thread. Are you looking for a piece of jewelry that you play with or is this a utility item. Get out and make it work or make it something you can not only play with but hang on your mantle?

I never had or tried a barrel kit before, so i can't really help you in that department. I think the biggest advantage of the kits is to have good paint to barrel match on a variety of sizes. If you always play with the same paint, I don't see why you would need a kit. For me, i have 5 different barrels that i have accumulated when buying my used mags. I use my 32* CF about 90% of the time since i always get the same paint.

You could get a two piece kit like i use, and just send the tip off to anno with your stock. That way you wind up with pretty much the same "look" you have now.

I am in the same boat as you right now, have a splash mag with a matching splash barrel. Upgraded to a ULE body and still want the matching barrel. I think the best bet is to have your tip modded to freak threads. That is what I plan on doing as soon as I find someone that can do it.
