View Full Version : Q Loader. Any experience with getting them to work?
I have had a qloader system for ~ a year now. I have tried it a few times, but have never been able to get it to work consistantly. I am now determined to get it to work correctly.
:wall:
Anyways. my problems:
The little white ball. How do you get it to the top? I have disassemblied it, but it always falls ~ 1-2" when putting it back together. I cannot fully load the loader because this ball stops the loading.
sticking/jamming. I can get the pods ~ 75% full, and when I put them on my marker they shoot up the tube to the marker (rt classic). I will shoot 2-3 times, and then nothing. It stops loading. I will pull it back out and reload it, and I usually get a extra shot or two before it jams again.
This silo loading thing. Totally a POS. I am tring to hold a revy and load the q at the same time, but it is not totally working. Any other loading suggestions?
I am down to 1 pod as I have broken paint in 6 of them.

Lornecash has been running a Q on his Xmag now for a while. He can probably help you out. Try and Email or PM him. He is a member here too.

Call Q Loader and tell em you are having some SERIOUS ISSUES!!!!
And try and get them to exchange your pods for Gen 2 pods. YOU WILL BE AMAZED!!!! The Gen 2's don't have the issues like Gen 1's do.
The pods have a lifetime warranty on them. So if they are broken they will replace them.

I could go on and on on how to fix these issues.... Like the little white ball. You have to hand wind it to the top after you get it put together. Take the Inside sleeve outta the Outside sleeve and wind it up.
Also the best way to load a pod is to sit a revy or halo or something else STRAIGHT on top of the hand turn'ing part. NO HOSE... NO SILO. Turn it on and load it up and crank away.
Take the pods all the way apart, keep the springs out and toss the rest in the bathtub and take a shower with everything. CLEAN IT ALL. Set it out and let it dry for a day before reassembly.
When you load the tubing onto the marker load it by hand FIRST. Don't let the pod uncoil and fill the tubing. That 1. uses too much paint out of a pod and 2. can cause the sudden stop at the end crushing a ball somewhere along the way. Don't let it do that.
Anything else??? Yes I know I just typed it all out. The best thing to do though is to get Gen 2 pods.
Anything else you need to know about the system let me know.

does the little white ball mean that I have a gen 1 system?

I know nothing of the Gen 2 systems but this was some footage of the best way I came up with.... then again this was practical because I was not in any rush to refill the things. This was the main reason I never used these for a full day of play. I figured I would need far too many to be practical.
How Z-man Loads Gen 1 QPods (http://www.zakvetter.com/paintball_videos/qloading.mov)
That is sorta how I was filling mine. Except I didnt have a 3rd hand, and was using a revy. I guess my next project should be a custom hopper filling stand.
I am beginning to think that I should ditch this whole qloader idea, and just stick with my warp. It never gave me problems.

It sounds to me as if your prewinds need to be reset and take some of the current tension off the drive spring.
If I remember correctly, the book says that (something like) 9-12 prewinds are common. Technically, it only needs one to unload the pod but this would just be a free-fall from the mounting socket. Prewinds are gun-dependent and how fast you plan on emptying it.
Disassemble the pods and take the drive spring out. As per the instructions, set up a new pre-wind amount...something low...something like 4-5 prewinds. Try it and see how it works as far as loading...and then shooting at that set amount. If need-be, increase the prewinds one at a time and see if that helps.
Another thing is that each pod may have a different prewind number. One may work for you at say..."3" but another at "6" and so forth. You need to tune each pod accordingly.

yes the little white balls are Gen 1 pods. Gen 2 pods do not have them. And the springs are much nicer. I'm telling you man. The best thing you can do is call Q and get them switched out!
I've dealt with both styles ALOT and trust me. Gen 2's are SOOOOO much nicer!!!
Let me know if you need contact info for Q. I've got friends who are reps.

Yeah, like Devil said, you've got the Gen I Q Pods. The Gen II are so much better. Though I still did away with mine in favor of a more traditional hopper. They're just too finicky, I'd rather be playing.

Mann call Steve at QLoader and upgrade your Gen 1 pods to Gen 2. Your feeding issue will go away! Yes the silo is less to be desired. I use a cheap VL loader and works great. Just tape the feedneck enough so it fits snug in the loading socket (w/ out the feedhose). You can also visit at the QLoader forum (http://forum.lanairgroup.com/Forums/tabid/36/Default.aspx) for more help/ideas. I'm a QLoader rep, so if you need to you can contact me direct.
