My toolkit for the field has grown and shrunk over the 17 years I have been at it.
Now a days my toolkit is actually small and quite manageable because I quit bringing enough tools and parts out to fix other people's guns and gear. I have literally lent out nearly entire guns in pieces for the Michigan Monster game, never to get any of the parts back at the end.
Is there anything you carry in your kit that you consider a must have, or a handy thing that most people don't think of until they need it? I have found that 35mm film canisters are great for storage of misc screws, o-rings, lubes, etc, and I always have q-tips, upholstery thread/needles, and tri-flow with me.

I love those multi-allen-wrench tools (the kind that fold out). They always seem to walk away on their own. I get them at Harbor Freight for dirt cheap, so no big deal if I go through a few a year.

A full set of allen wrenches. Electrical tape. Dental pick. Screw drivers. Small crescent wrench. These have all come in handy on more then a few occassions.

teflon tape, loctite, dunno if im spelling these right, adjustable wrench
the 35mm cases is a good idea, my toolbox is just a box with all extra stock or spare parts and that box goes inside my bag

#1 phillips are always in short supply. And needed for every halo/reloader batt change. I carry only 1 #1 phillips , 1 full set of metric and standard craftsman ball end allen wrenchs. 1 six inch cresent wrench. 1 roll of teflon tape. 1 roll black electrical tape. That's what i carry sometimes it not enough but it handles most of the problems i've encountered.

Allen wrenches, teflon tape, lubes, o-rings, monkey wrench, crochet hooks, screwdrivers, air fittings and spare macroline. That is usually what I bring.
Styg, where in MI are you? I am at Ferris State finishing my final year. Are you anywhere near there (Big Rapids)?

Crochet hooks? yeah I gotta ask :)
I am in SE Michigan - about as far from you as I can get - I'm down here by The Palace and Silverdome and all that.

Here's my kit:
http://members1.chello.nl/u.haarsma/Paintball-FAQ/DSCN2914.JPG
Tailored for the automag and a few other emergencies. Currently i also have some phantom parts in it, luckily neither of those are often needed on the field or asked for. The only thing i help people out with are bottle o-rings, but sometimes i'll have a look at their gun. Sometimes, because when i go out to play i want to shoot people, not teching their guns.
Good excuses:
- Sorry, i don't know nothing about teching a 98C
- Sorry, i don't know nothing about ions
- Sorry, your spyder is FUBAR. Get a real gun.
I feel sorry doing this, but if i didn't i would be spending quite some time on other people's markers, something they should be able to do themselves.

I agree. Depending who it is I would rather loan them a working gun then try to work on theirs.

i've noticed that after starting to shoot my mag more, people have been swiping my batteries in my tool kit. not that i need them (except maybe the loader) but i grow tired of replacing my own batteries that i never get to use

I don't carry batteries. What i have is in my loaders, and those are rechargebles.
Usually i come home with more guns to clean than i actually shot.

I have a tool box with all kinds of stuff...from a hand chrono to extra mag barrels to voltage meter and calipers. The top drawer has batteries, extra feednecks for my Mag harem, Screwdrivers, cresent wrenches and three allen wrench sets.
I have a separate case like fixels with all the mag parts and repairs kit goodies you can think of to include HPA parts, set screws and oil.
I fix all I can and like Fixel....I usually clean more guns than I shot....with all who borrow my mags amazed by how well they shoot.....

The minimum I try to bring with me.
O-rings for tank/gun.
Teflon
Tape
Allan Wrenches
#1 and #2 Phillips and Flathead Screwdriver
Wrench
Gun Oil/Grease
Rags for cleanup.
------------------------------
But generally I bring more than that.
Extra barrels, Chrono, Batteries, Wire Cutter, Pliers.
-----------------------------
It depends on where I go and who I know brings other tools.

Oh yeah for scenario sinc ei end up working on everyone **** around me i bring a dremel and a power dril and vice....i have mad good money fixing things before so i guess i kinda prepare for it. I usually buy tippman repair kits for scenarios and fix those, there are always a lot of 98s and a-5s

I have a small plastic case , like you get with orings. I carry a dental pick, all the allen wrenches that come free with markers....I have owned enough to have lots of them...., orings, teflon, etc. Like styg, I used to carry everything I needed to repair anyones marker, but after spending entire days fixing instead of playing, I quit doing that. I have the bare minimum for quick fixes and a backup marker. Not that I ever need it.
I shoot a mag.
Will say I started carrying bumpers with me......

The only thing I would add to the discussion seeing as listing the common tools are redundant..
I carry one of those quick heat battery powered soldering irons for fixing those damn eye wires and battery harnesses for the *** that everyone seems to break and a strap wrench for just about any round thing that needs tightening.
I don't mind fixing other peoples markers... most of the time..

What type of strap wrench do you carry? I broke 2 of them last weekend trying to take the reg off of a PMI nitro tank
Styg
I almost borke out the autococker tool ( 28oz framing hammer )

I had that exact problem with a couple of the "rubber band" strap wrenches trying to remove a reg from a crossfire tank. Ended up putting it in a vice and the damn thing broke off down inside the tank. Bye 160$.....

So much for never apply a permanent sealer to your regulator threads.
The 2 I broke were both the blue handle black rubber strap type - Anyone suggest a nice strong strap wrench for me?
I need to get a new strap wrench actually, I keep unscrewing my N2 bottle from my I-reg when I try and take it off the Mini.

Thank you for the vote of confidence!
My usual kit consists of...
Well every tool I own, except the mill and lathe, as they are to unwieldly to take to the field... :)
You all have pretty much covered it. The addition I have is about 100 pounds of spare parts.

I keep my kit in a small toolbox. It has a lid on top under which are many small compartments for storing screws, o-rings, fittings, etc.
The toolbox tray has a few things in it: four screwdrivers (small and large philips, small and large flathead), Automag springs, Gold Cup, loose allen wrenches.
On the bottom of the toolbox I have two full sets of metric and standard allen wrenches, two small crescent wrenches, teflon tape, unopened tubes of Gold Cup, and a can of Vaseline.
That's all I can remember. There are other things in there but those are the major ones. I can usually fix most gun or hopper issues that happen with both mine and other people's equipment.
I do think I will pick up a butane soldering iron and keep that and some small diameter solder for electronics repairs in addition to what I had. My hopper stopped working after the first game at Red Dawn due to an unknown issue. I found out later that one of the chips had physically removed itself from the board. When I got home I soldered it back on and it worked like new. Yay!
aa batteries, aaa batteries, 9volts, # 1 screw driver, and phillips, i now have 2 complete metric and standard sets, since i lost all my damn 1/8th allens, electrical tape, teflon tape, mag o rings, springs, bumpers, and a spare on/ off, 2 dental piks, 2 bottles of lube, lots of macro line, cresent wrench, vice grips, autococker valves, springs, and valve tool, extra cocker ivg, and usually 2 extra amrkers, since i ALWAYS break something, i used to carry a spare halo, because id break paint and just swap loaders instead of taking it all apart to clean it..im the guy with alot of tools, and yet the one i need is never there, and i wlays break something that i have no chance of fixing...dovetail on dynaflow reg..paint breakage in halo.trigger magent on emag, xmag..battery not charged on emag , xmag, lvl x not cooperating...list goes on and on...and the cocker?..lets not get started there..

Harbor Freight is a GREAT place for tools to take to the field. No worries if they disappear.
