I was wondering how you think your local paintball stores are doing? Does it look like they're moving their inventory or is it a little stale ? I try to purchase what I can from my local shop but it tends to be mainly paint and air purchases. I would guess that ballers making online purchases is making it difficult for pb shops these days. Just curious.

2 months ago there were 3 shops near me. All on the same street within 1 mile of each other. I think only 1 exists today. The one that remains is the one that sells everything way over priced in my opinion. Every time I shop there I feel ripped off. But when you need something fast what else can you do?
I never really bought anything from any of them besides paint because none of the carried mag parts anyways.
I have seen many pb companies come and go in my town. One has made it the past 10 yrs or so, and the guy that runs it owns the property, and only does it on his spare time. The interwebs kill local pb stores. That and the fact that none of them tend to both speed and woods.

my local shop has been threw 3 stores so far, between moving to a better location and getting a better facility, he's doing well. my team helps him out reffing and putting on games but we lack a field in the area. i think that's a bigger issue then the sales from the shop. i definitely agree that internet killed the paintball star.

I haven't been inside a brick and mortar paintball shop for months. The Maxair compressor and scuba tanks have pretty much removed any need to leave the house for paintball related items. I actually like supporting the "little guy" but he's going to have to be online to get my attention. I have a very short list of dealers that I'll do business with. I'm more interested in fast reliable service than cost.

I haven't stepped into a shop in a bit myself. There is one in the area that is by far the premier shop on southside and a few others that are mostly paint and air outlets. Of course you see a lot of items that have been on shelf for years collecting dust, but at the one especially they keep a good fresh selection of new markers for both woods and speedball.

My shop is doing really well. Up until yesterday I've never sold online and kind of plan to keep it that way except for hard to find items I have that people want. I have an information website at www.vernalpaintball.com but its rarely ever updated.

She is making a killing there is no one near her, she warranties labor on every new marker she sells for the life of the gun. She allows you to shoot the floor models before making a purchase, she takes trade ins, she sells your guns for you, her price on paint is very good, and she partners with all the local scenario and tournys in the area. I occasionally work for her a few hours on Saturday morning as she lets me have store credit and allows me to have free reign of the sotre, lathe, work bench air etc...
I hope to buy it if she ever retires. Did i mention she calls everyone baby?

I try to buy from my local field shop if I can....but they don't carry everything. For a marker, I almost always would rather buy local...as the shop will tune and fix the gun for free.
Action Village is also only about 20 minutes from me...and they have a ton of stuff....so if I cant get it from my local field shop...Ill go over there.

There are no local shops near me - they have all closed - the closest store is about 45 minutes away, and its the shop that supplies paint for the field I work at an hour away in the opposite direction. I have not set foot in a brick and mortat paintball store in well over 4 years, and when I did, it was usually just to register for the Monster Game or to get air to work on a gun.
The stores in the area when they were here charged between 100%-200% more than I could get things online for.
The closest I have come recently to dealing with a brick and mortar store is I deal with a guy 3 hours west of me on orderring Invert Minis, Tippmann repair parts, and he is sending me some of his field paint to try out for this weekend.

Well, I have 3 stores that I go to often. One is Flo's Flowers cause I play with the owner, the other is Mountain View Paintball, and the other is CC Paintball in Norco.
Flo's is good cause the Owner is a great technician and the prices aren't that bad. I'd say he's doing ok.
MVP is a shocking store to walk in to. It's the biggest Paintball shop I've ever been in. Lots of stock and different brands of paint to choose from. He distributes to other stores too. So I'd say he's doing well.
CC I go to every once in a while since its close to SC and the staff there is decent although their prices aren't to my liking. I hear they do good, I guess its the close proximity to SC village.
