I just read a thread about this topic. Id like to hear what you all think.

Personally, Ive noticed this trend over just the last 2 years. Before that, there were TONS of pages of mags and mag parts. Here are some of my observations:

1) Right now is a down market for used parts. With X-Mas around the corner people are either saving their money for gifts, or for to buy themselves new gear. So players dont put up used gear, because they cant get much for it.

2) Some players are going back to semi-auto, and buying up whats on eBay. Similar to what they did with pump. Supply vs. Demand.

3) The oppoortunists have found and bought all the 'good deals'.

4) Players have realized that the mag is just as impressive as any other marker out there. So why sell it?:smarty:

Players have decided not to sell through ebay and save the fees. Why pay them when you can sign up or AO, PBN, MCB or PBL for free?

There is a lot less used equipment for paintball going on Ebay as a whole, I used to get 3 pages of Autococker bodies, now I get a listing of like 12 items. I think people are getting away from Ebay because they never get asking price, get scammed, or have other venues to sell the gear.

I mean - you build a cocker, - it cost you 1000.00 to make it, and resale on ebay is 250.00 on a good day. Might as well trade it in at a local shop, or online for more value.

I see mostly online stores posting on Ebay these days.

I don't know. I still see that Blue X valve that's been hovering at $350+ for a while now. :slap:

I personally have recently refused to sell anything else on ebay. A buyer is claiming that the package he recieved did not include all of the parts. Unfortuently for him I kept the reciept which has the package weight on it. I know he recieved the items, and is tring to get both money and valves.

Ebay has its cycles. There is usually 2 pages at any given time. Winter has less items, but you can sell items for higher prices. Come June you can pick up emags for 350 again.

Lol, you know I sold that guy a blue Xvalve a couple years back for 145.00 and he turns around and sells it for over 300 bones!smart parts I don't sell many parts anymore cause I never want to see any of my old gear in his hands to *** rape others again.

I don't do nearly the paintball purchasing on E-bay as I used to. I have had more success with MCB, AO, Phog and SCP and those sites.. even the dreaded PBN has a bargain or two every now and then.. though I have also bought a boat anchor from there too.

I don't sell on ebay either. I would like to know my item is going into good hands. It's even more important when It's a rare piece. I want it to stay in the mag community, so I know it's taken care of, and I may be able to find it if I want it back.

Maybe it just attrition. Less mags parts are made so there are less around.

I'd like to think that the people that have mags and parts are keeping them because mags last forever.

I have noticed the decline though.

One more thing Ihave noticed. Rails never last in the for sale threads the go up for sale and are bought quickly.

i've noticed the same on ebay. it has had a major decline in AGD gear and markers in the past 2 years. i stopped peddling on ebay because of that fact. i fine the AGD market is more profitable and has a better value in parts. PLUS i love shooting them. thats two reasons why i started to begin with. now i do most of that on AO and here.

i think big evil is right, people pick these markers up and don't want to get rid of them.

That and their really aint no such thing as a cheap mag anymore. Its almost like picking up a classic car, there is so many options and all increase the worth, the less out thier the higher the price and less you will see hit the market. Almost a right of passage.

We had a guy at AO south come up just in hope he could by a stock automag - that was his only reason he drove in. I think mann ended up selling him one.

I agree that the holiday season drives paintball product demand down, hence less AGD stuff listed on ebay.

Also, way too many Ebay fees. Easier to sell Mag stuff to serious buyers on AO.

AO and here are always my first stop. If you guys keep this up, I'll be able to say I haven't made a PB sale on eBay in a year.
