i just was curious on what all the upgrades people have seen for the invert mini. I have a mini and i havent seen much that can be done to it yet. but...one of my friends told me he saw a drop for it, but i cant find it anywhere. I got some custom grips from Stinger Paintball Designs, but thats all so far. Please enlighten me on what else is out there for this gun.

I haven't heard of a drop. Lets see there are Triggers, Bolts, Boards, Feednecks, Ball detents, Grips, Back Plates, Barrels. Basically everything you can get for other markers except the drops and On/Offs. Most people just don't know where to find Mini stuff. I got a Mini up to 17BPS last night and it still could have gone faster if I could have. It had the Tadao Board, Rythem SF trigger, Rythem Bolt, New Designz Detents, and Bob Long barrel, it shot great, I was very impressed.

The only thing I can think of is a dual roller-bearing Trigger. The gun functions just fine otherwise.

Your friend saw probably saw the "dropback" rail extension that a New Designs machinist floated on PBN a while ago. He said his arms are to long for the Mini. It didn't get a very good reception there. You can get better adjustability in the stock trigger by changing the 6-32 x 1/8 lower trigger travel set screw out for a 6-32 x 1/4. This allows you to turn the set screw further in to shorten the trigger travel. I "heat treated" a rare earth magnet to reduce it's magnetism a bit and added it to the frame. This gives me just about the right trigger tension and prevents light tank slap shots. I rank this trigger set up as one of the best in my experience. I also added a Tadao board which has some really nice debounce features. Yes, the Mini seems to suffer from mechanical bounce. With the Tadao you don't need to be so careful about the trigger tension or activation adjustments. The Tadao is easier to program and has lot's of fine tuning features too.

How did you "heat treat" the magnet? Time/Temp?

How did you remove the side to side slop of the stock trigger? spacer washers?

The Rythem SF trigger is designed with multiple magnents so you can add or remove them to get the trigger feel you like. Its pretty nice.

I used a Zippo fire lighter flame to heat the magnet held by needle nose pliers. It's better than "baking" them in an oven because it gives more control over the heating time and the amount of demagnetization. You can heat a little, test, and then heat a little more if need be. Too much heat/time will completely demagnetize it. We've been doing this on Xmag tension magnets for a while now to cut down on the need for spacers. I didn't bother with reducing the side play. Once the travel is cut down by the longer set screw and the magnet is added in, the overall trigger play is not so nearly as sloppy and isn't noticeable to me.

of all the boards out...which one do you recommend

Well, Virtue has been having alot of issues(the kind that can break your marker) so I'd stay away from that one atleast until they get all the bugs worked out, plus its alot more expensive and frankly no better performance than the Empire. The Empire(Tadao) is a great board performance wise probably the best, but they used fairly cheap components so longevity is a concern although I've yet to see one have any problems and I've sold quite a few. They are also very very easy to program. APE is good, and has been around a while now with no real issues. I'd go Empire myself, but APE is a very close second.

I Agree ^. Word is that the Mini Virtue board has power related problems. If you insist on getting an aftermarket board, I can recommend the Tadao. It has a good menu of usable features, is simple to program and it works extremely well in my Mini.
