Over the years, its been asked many MANY times why more colored XValves arent available. There are a few reasons for this:
1) The 2 halves of the valve are made with differing aluminum alloys. Different alloys take color differently. This makes getting a color match more difficult with colors(red, blue, pewter, etc) than with black. The more difficult a product is to produce, the higher the price becomes. Which has a direct effect on reason #2
2) Demand. Everyone says they want a colored valve, until they have to pay full price for one. While there may be a small demand(less than 25 per year, per color), that is not enough to warrant producing them. Consumers have said in the past "We want them!". Once they are available, the demand magically disappears. There are only so many times before a manufacturer gets burned, learns this lesson and makes decision based on true demand, rather than perceived internet demand.
