The cliche is soo true. My 3 month old 08 Explorer sport track has been having some weird electrical problem. Last tuesday, I go stuck at work and had to have it towed to a near bye dealership, where they could find nothing wrong but a blown fuse. (Duh, of course the fuse is blown, why is it blown?).
Then on Thursday, it happened 2 more times. No carrying extra fuses, I just replaced it each time. Unfortunately, the dumbasses at the Ford dealer where I purchased the truck from could not look at it over the weekend. I made an appointment to drop it off Monday night after work.
Well, as it turns out, the truck didnt want to wait that long. Damn truck crapped out on me again this morning, so I had it towed back into Ford at 7AM.
Great way to start the week.
Funny thing about this problem, it only happens when I am parking the truck. My alarm has been acting funny for the last week, so I suspect that maybe the culprit. Who knows how the trained monkeys at Ford installed the damn thing.
Interesting enough, I had issues with my 04 Sport Track when I first purchased that also. Nothing like this though. The old one made a noise when I made a hard left turn. Three trips back to the dealer where they couldnt figure it out. Finally, I went into the shop with the Service manager while the truck was on the lift - where I noticed that one of the wheel well panels was installed incorrectly.
UGH
I owned a 1992 Isuzu Rodeo for 10 years 175,000 miles, and never once had a bull**** issue with it. I gave the truck to my father, and he still has it. Although now completely run into the ground and falling apart.
I also don't want to hear how great Mopars or GM's are either. I used to be a mechanic, and I have first hand experience with all of their bull**** also. Don't get me started about GM A/C compressors please or Mopar oil pumps:wall:
It's really no wonder why Honda and Toyota can get so much more money for their vehicles.

I've actually had the best luck with Fords, heck my F350 has 348,000miles on it and is still running well. My Mustang has 160,000 and still runs perfectly. Plus all the agency I work fors Ambulances are Fords and as much time as we spend Bajaing out thru the Oil and Natural gas fields they take one heck of a beating and have very few problems. I have had tons of problems with GMs and my sister had one literally spontainiously combust on her. I've owned a five fords in the past few years and never had any problems with any of them except a stange magnetic effect that draws other cars into mine on a rediculasly frequent basis.

I own a 93 F150 that was purchased used with extremely low mileage. In the time that I have had it, the trans went out at 36K, the lights flicker on and off at night (a common FORD issue), the heat doesn't work right, there are several other issues with things like the windshield washers, etc. , and of course all the paint is just falling off.
Now I am having this odd problem with the motor building back pressure and blowing low end seals. My oil pan gasket just blew out the side. Didn't think it was unusual given that age of the truck, so it gets fixed and immediately blows the rear main seal. It runs like a top to this day w/ only 75K on it, but sure has given me its share of trouble. I have serious doubts about whether I will ever own another.

I actually feel better now after reading that :)
My last Ford, the 04 Sport Track, was perfect after I figured out that stupid noise thing. Literally did not have to repair a single thing on it in teh 4 years I had it.

Hey:
My old mustang, key word "old," was a piece of **** too. Sorry, thats what FORD stands for.
And no, I didn't mean 'old' like an 1960's/1970's I mean 2003 GT that I actually put some money into before I got smart.

The fact you bought a new Ford is have your problem, I have never had luck with fords or chevy's as much as i hate to admit it, Foreign and Jeeps have been good to me. So you bought a 3 month old 2008 turd...

Well sometimes it stands for "Found Off Road Dead" or even "****in' Off Road Disaster"
GM FTW. My blazer was a dream car. It needs a new engine now, but only after 268k miles. It made it through my teenage years where I ragged the heck out of it(16-23).

1998 Pontiac GTP. Best car I ever owned. Not because its the best built, highest quality ride out there. Its actually just average in build quality. But I've really hammered this car. Put horsepower into her, raced it a lot and she never broke...
98,000 and still running 13:90's at Raceway Park. 25mpg highway - Great car.
The hard thing is trying to find a replacement for her. But I think my next will be an Infinity.

I have owned Chevys Dodges and Fords.
Right now I own 5 Fords.
My one Ranger has 287,000 miles (retired, only ocassional use), my other Ranger has 235,000 miles (in the process of becoming on Off-Road race truck), my F 150 has 197,000 still daily driven, my F350 has 175,000 on it and still is daily driven and depended on to tow a 14,000 pound 5th wheel "Toy Hauler" where ever I want to go and finally my toy, a 1999 Cobra Mustang, completety independant suspension with Koni adjustable coil over shock, Roll bar, Supercharged 32 valve DOHC 4.6 litre V8 with 565 HP.
Chevys are plastic pieces of **** that will fall apart around a good drivetrain.
Dodges are very unrefined
Toyota is a Ford wannabe. Take a look at a Toyota and then look at a 3 year older Ford (see the sililarities) a Tundra looks Identical to a F-150, a Tacome is just like a Ranger and the Camry was a Taurus rip off....need I continue.
Remember this: Henry Ford invented the asssembly line, making the automobile affordable for the working man.

unfortunately
i had a ford mustang circa 86
and a ford bronco - after it broken down on the farm we put a strait chevy 6 in it and used it for fing off in the back woods. Took a lot of fabbing mainly we welded everything in place a jerry rigged it, but we had an old strait 6 and no ford replacement motor.
