So I am working on thinning out the basement clutter and getting things to manageable. In my pondering I have come to the conclusion that I don't know enough about all markers to be sure I have it all balanced out and planned perfectly. That is where you generous souls come in.
I am looking to get a bag or two of most reliable and user friendly for all types of play markers together.
Here is my thinking.
AKA guns for speedball
1 Viking 1 Excal
Mags for rec/ skill building speedball
Classic valve super tuned goodness
Sniper for the rare pump game or to join the newbs in style.

I have the new Redz backpack, and I pack the following into it.
My Viking, my Mag, and my Prostock sniper.
A 64/45, a 45/45, and a 13/3K.
A VLocity, SC feed, and a Winchester.
It works very well
My second duffel carries my barrel kit (although I can attach my barrel bag to the backpack if I want to), my toolkit, and my clothes.
If I'm going all out I have a bag full of parts, tanks, and markers I can take along. I usually don't though, since I usually have all I need in the first two bags.:D

I usually have that following:
3 markers (2 electros and 1 mechanical). I like having a backup electro in case something happens to the primary one. And I feel it's a good idea to have a mech in case the weather gets crappy. But, now that I have my pneumag, I might leave one of the electros at home...
2 HPA bottles. I have an 88/45 and a 70/45. I like using the 88 for longer missions or games that are larger fields where I know I can't make a quick trip to the fill stations. The 70 is a "peanut" tank that I like for games that require faster movement or tighter play.
2 hoppers. I always have a backup hopper for those "special" occasions like; broken paint inside the hopper, eyes that are going bad, slipping belts on the drive cone...etc.
1 barrel kit. You never know what kind of paint you'll be shooting or how the weather will affect it.
And of course, parts, batteries, lube, lens cleaner... crap like that.

I pack 2-5 guns, choice and count depends on what i want to play with, if i need to bring loaners, if there's HPA available, etc, etc. But usually i bring more than i need.... :rofl2:

I take 2 Marqs(one for me and one for whomever needs it and is deemed worthy) My Spyder Rodeo & RSX, and my Phantom. My Marq, Rodeo, and Phantom are the only ones that I ever use the rest are more loaners.

I take ONE marker, lately it's been my Ego since the pm6 has no eyes.
Only reason I see to take more then one gun is if I had a pump, or take a back-up if I'm going to a tournament. Other then that my markers are pretty reliable.

For electros---Id say AKA. Ive owned my share of E-mags, and Im not a fan.
For mechs---Id say AGD. There really is no viable alternative.
For pumps---I dont have a clue. Ive yet to really use the bulk of them in any day of play. I hear the CCM's are real nice, others like Palmers. The best value Ive been told is the Phantom.

This is a great thread. Now i get to tell you want you need to buy.
Unmilled viking -Check
Milled viking (immortal or highlander) This is for when you want to feel bad °°°.
DP g3- this is for when you feel like a wuss and you cant pack your unmilled around the field.
Rainmaker - This is for when you want to go oldscholl elc. you can bust this gun and tell the kiddos how its older then they are.
DevilMag- When you want to feel the raw power of what a very fast mag can do.
Excaliber blind single tigger - This is for when you feel like you want something the is butter smooth as the newbs put it.
04 Excaliber unmilled with eye - this is when you want that butter feeling but want it in a little fast stlye.
04 FL Excaliber with eyes - This is when you want that butter feeling but either you feel like you want some stlye. Or your arms are tired from the unmilled version.
XMAG - Because every true paintball whore needs one.
Puematic mag - This is when the weather is bad and you still want a fast gun with out having to worry about watering your board.
Classic mag - I think you have this one covered.
osiris - Just when you want something odd looking that is fast
Shocktech Dm5 black - So when you want to feel like Jeremy
FSP Sliver 04 viking - so when you feel like being like ROB
PumpMag - i want one but they dont make the best pumps.
CCM pump - because they are the best pumps i have played with.
Now your main marker should be.
ULE body
90* frame
mm rail
xvlave(because its black)
This is the main marker you should have. Its the nicest oneball gun you can play with. you need it in all black. Because black just kicks °°°. then you need shorts so the pocket can act as your hopper. There you go that is what i think you should have in your bag.

Well you have me beat on the number of markers listed as "needed" or "wanted", but I like your list!
Mine currently rests at 4-5.
Classic RT- Old marker with more firepower than any of you punks will ever have. Old, heavy and faster than anything out there. Perfect for putting children in their place. It's my "oh you want to play the I'm really a fast shooter with my ramping marker game?"
'04 Excal- Smooth, fast, efficient. Maybe a bit heavy but other than that, it's a fantastic. <insert the 2 paragraphs about how much I love Excals>
ULE RT Pro- (some day) I want a 1lbs version of the Classic RT some day. Same purpose, same design but as light as I can get it. All function, no foo-foo.
I have not added the old DM3 that I have to the list yet as I need a few games with it to make any sort of judgement call on it.
My list is small I think because I really want to do 1 thing in paintball and that is shoot a lot of paint. Now I can either do it in a manner faster than anyone else, OR do it with a marker more enjoyable to shoot than anything else, and I think that is really where those choices came from.

04 viking FSp or full mill
08 droid
Xmag
I generally carry those three and my mech cocker for when game are too lopsided or i need to work on some skills...... occasionally my rt with my 1200psi tank will make it into my bag. I have about 20 markers now, but the 3 above are constant

one electro (gen 4 intimidator) for when I want to throw paint, or when I just feel like having the firepower around even if I don't use it.
one mech (04 prostock cocker, mods for fun and personalization) for when I want to challenge myself a little more and make some agglet °°°°ed that the other guy tagged him with out batteries. Also cockers are hypnotic...the back block talks to me....it tells me to mark people.
one loaner (1on) used this last season, it was alright...didn't upgrade it at all. It's not a bad marker to hand to someone with a revy or gravity feed to use as well. I don't feel bad if the thing gets dammaged. It's a loaner...it's not like I could sell it and get any money anyway.
one pump (don't have it yet, maybe phantom or gray ghost) for when you really want a challange, or if you're playing on a tight budget. Or you just want to look bad °°°.
As it stands right now my cocker and intimidator are in the marker case, the 1on gets wrapped in a towel and throw in the trunk...if I know I'll be loaning someone a marker, otherwise it sits in the corner at the house and cries because it was left behind.

High End - My Marq 7
Backup - My Russian Legion Intimidator
Woods gun- My Fraken-spyder
Specialty - Either my Phantom or my Palmer Autococker
Mask - Vents Avatar, V-Force Profiler
Tank - 72/45 Peanut Tank, 72/3000
Harness - NXE 4+7
Hopper - Empire Reloader B, Halo B
Energy Drink - NOS
That's my list of stuff I pack to tourneys and rec games.

Dropout Phantom
Left Feed Sniper
It's all i need to have a good time
I've been done with loaning out guns for a while now. I've had too many walk off... sure they were cheap JABB's but they worked and got people back in the game. So I carry only what I will use and nothing else.

I know what you mean. Gear gets "borrowed" a lot down here too, but it gets returned half the time, only in more pieces. . . :wall:

Ok I have sorted it out.
First comes a Viking. Just picked up a steal of a deal on an 04 milled (everything you can do but noid and tray milling). It is a little rough but perfect for beating the crap out of. Great gun to play with and not feel bad about messing with "a piece of paintball history".
Second comes a back up electro of some form. For now that is a DP threshold (cause it was a good trade and a decent gun to shoot). Makes me want to get a better reg and keep it but I doubt I will hang on to it forever. Will get a sidewinder on there and see if it gets used. At some point I will probably replace this with another Viking (but two super milled nice ones is hard to justify).
Third Pneumag Xvalved ULT trigger kit super tuned level 10 Custom ULE body mini shadow rail (anyone have one to sell me?) Triton frame the works. This one I am gonna have to put some serious work into. Have parts need to get it together.
The first three will be the ones I commit to till the day I am done paintballing. They get sold last when there is no hope the kids will play or just before they stop making paintballs.
A mech mag. Cause I have so many nice parts it is gonna be hard not to keep something. I have one in the works that in its former state was such a joy to shoot that if I get it back together and get the same performance I will include it with the original three. Gotta have a go to doesn't break mech.
For loaners/ fun to build comes the "cheap" simple never do anything but maintain them double trigger of some kind mags. As many as I feel like I can afford and probably only one at that. Seems like anything with an intelli or the likes is just so nice to shoot it gets you wanting to play. These are what have made a long term player out of me. Also when I loan a gun it always comes back and I have learned who not to loan to by experience. I think it is worth it for the sake of the sport er game.
Finally a sniper with ccm pump kit. Have it almost together. As well as a pump mag that is in process. Maybe I will come up with a round body merlin to replace these with. Will have to get more experience with these and see if I ever end up with a crowd that plays pump. Maybe I will become skinnier faster and cheaper and start playing with these all the time. Seems like the fearless/ bad a** I can aim route to go. Depends on who I am playing with.
Bottom line One AKA with a backup of some sort. One Mech mag and a pump. Still cleaning out the basement (need to put up about 50 sale threads/ auctions). Actual bag that stays packed for the field will someday be 3-4 guns tops. Incurable whore I know. Will post pics as they get to their "final" state.

Well maybe "can't stand to just own one cause there are so many cool milling options want to do something fantastic with all my spare cash so I am getting a second one at some point and have the threshold for a placeholder" is more accurate but it is alot to say. I mean more of a I have two guns cause batteries sometimes take too long to replace and sometimes you want to shoot something different or have a best friend you want to play on the other team and not feel outguned gun.
Thanks:nunchaku:

Then the backup to the AKA marker should be another. Maybe an Excal?:glare::nana:

Depends, For an automags meet n greet: At least 2 xmags, Ekarta, Etac, and a pneumag. For woodsball: My 98 M82A1, at 2 A-5s and an electro just in case. For a speedball day: Hybrid Shocker, DM6, XSV Ego, and a viking.
A standard gear bag includes 2 halos, 4 tanks (usally I lone a couple out), DW cf barrel, and a freak barrel kit ....
