"Paintball Punks" started out as an Ebay shop and now is my local brick and mortar.

They are only "open" for 3 hours a day and don't adhere to posted hours.
Lucky me, they were open today so I stopped in to see what the Shop is all about.

Impression I get is that this is a "quasi" store front so he could be a "legitimate" dealer.
The person behind the counter {the owner} seemed consumed by his laptop and Ebay dealings. He didn't exactly know what product was what.. had to look up gun prices off a sheet and wasn't sure what gun I was talking about...
He knew what he had.. He just wasn't quick and couldn't give specifics about performance.

I asked what marker was better on air "the fusion or mini?" {had both on the wall}
His reply was "you could pry play three games before running out of air"
I said "I shoot a lot of paint" His reply was "well I don't know then"

The rundown
Small store under 200 sqft.
Large inventory for its size
No HPA fills
Kingman and KEE inventory
two levels of "bonus ball brand" paint {2 cases for 50 bucks}
Person behind the counter was very inexperienced with his wall product and very "stand offish".

I'm sure he will do well in paint and CO2 fills but his marker and apparel prices will be easily beat online.

Having now actually been inside his store I have decided not to support his venture at any level.

Based on
Price, Attitude, Knowledge, and frankly I don't like to support People that are in paintball merely to turn a quick profit {that was my First impression}
Plus.. I have ball haulers older than the person behind the counter.

This is what they tell the local kiddies
"Bonus Balls of three different grades:
Wildfire is comparable to Diablo Hellfire - $38.00 per box
Premium is comparable to Diablo Blaze or Proball - $29.00 per box
Val-u-ball is comparable to stinger or Rec Sport - $26.00 per box"

According to UThomas, this is typical of the Mature industry life cycle. Remember, things arent what they seem...the industry is growing!

Hopefully, I articulated my sarcasm well in my statement:wthumpup:

Sounds like you hit the nail on the head. He's only got the brick and mortar store to legitimize his dealings. Namely so people like Kee will still give him product to push. I wouldn't shop from him, either.

Three games? That's utterly vague!

Yep, the monkey gets angry! But he's still in his cage :nana:

And for added fun after rattling...get the cattle prod. I'm going to go hide from the ASPCA now...before they come after me on conspiracy to think about abuse.

Sounds like the normal store anymore, it sad but true. Very few stores are worth going to anymore.

Well, then I suppose my local pro shop - Drop Zone - isn't normal. Of course, the owner of the field and all the stores personally runs the one I go to and he sponsors our team, but whatever :D

My local brick and mortor store is Action Village...seriously. I live about 4 miles from their storefront that is attached to their werehouse. I'm a special case though...and I will go out of my way to go to the store that owns the field I play at most of the time because they are knowalgeable and their store is good too, not as cheap but I don't much care most of the time.

Mine is not normal either, its well run and usually very friendly and professional, but sadly stores like the "Punks" are rappidly becoming the standard.

Customer service at our store is backed by the Thought Police (bryce). I have to be nice to the people that come in to the shop. But seriously, my store is well run and we try to relate to all of our customers.
