So I came across this:

The article in the middle of the page is a never ending diatribe on why and how to play with a pump. Some interesting thoughts on the evolution of the sport. Honestly I skimmed it. Too long for today's reading tolerance.

You should read it and get back to me on what I missed. Do I really need to go that far backwards to be good?

Wow that was interesting. What if you play pump and semi? I agree that a marker like a pump will teach a new player accuracy before speed, but it's all up to the player.
