I was wondering how many different marker builds there are. Now I don't mean like DM3 vs DM7 I mean how many designs are there that are distinctly different in their operation that you could call a different and unique construction?

Lets see,

Single tube blow back= Tippmanns

Blow Forward=Mags

Closed bolt=Cockers

Forward Air Spring Opreated Return(mags could also fall into this catagory)=Fusion, Defiant, Promaster

Dump Chamber=Threshold, G3

Poppit=Intimidator, Ego

Spool Valve=DM, °°°°°°°

Pumps=Phantom, Buzzard

I'm sure there are more, but thats all I can think of.

AKA Vikings & Excals are Triple Tube, Electro-Pneumatic Operations (Ram/Valve). Viking being open-bolt, and Excal being closed-bolt.

Angels are Triple Tubed.....

It was not meant to be a trivia post. I actually was interested to know roughly how many designs were out there as variables for a test. Besides the barrel test I kinda wanted to test different designs of markers to see if it had ANY effect on the trajectory. I HIGHLY doubt that it would have any noticable or measurable differences but you know... no one knows because no one tests these things.. It would be a big challenge to test however... have to get the same brand regulators and LPRs and the same tank and barrel and all sorts of things to minimize the other variables just within the markers themselves...

So basically what I got out of this was that there are at least 10 designs we could mention and still have a few others that could be added without breaking a sweat.

Wasn't the Splatmaster it's own "design" also? Or has that been copied into a more modern marker?
