Of all the milling styles available, what is the absolute lightest out there. Even if its a 1-off?

Well I saw your thread and this marker popped into my head:

then I realized you asked for the lightest excal not viking..well anyway I did all that work to find it, might as well let other enjoy the eye candy because it is a beautiful piece. And I'm going to assume it's one of the lightest vikes available, with the UL frame and milling.

A modified featherlight would be the lightest, one with the FSP milling (milling between ASA and grip frame). I have not seen one like that, only a highlander excal with that milling.
You can't be as radical with the excal as the viking due to the design. Milling in the 'noid area is more limited because of the two noid arrangement, and the bolt tube has to extend almost all the way back on an excal.
This one I sold A tach is going to be about as light as it gets, barring some frame milling and the ASA area milling.
JMJ really did a good job of milling the body down to the bare essentials.

And that's it in the pic above. I imagine there isn't much more to mill that would truly lighten her up. Give it a frame diet, mill out the tray, mill behind the reg(FSP) and dovetail rail milled into the frame for the on/off. That's about it I guess. I like this one the way it is though.

Listen to you, all up on the AKA stuff now. Warms the heart...
Rogue, that's the curse of excals. Smooth as butter, wonderful closed-bolt cycle, but less opportunities for weight reduction. I think it's worth the price myself.

Yeah, but I can hope cant I? I keep trying to convince myself to go with a Viking. I just cant. I try the Viking, and think to myself "This is good enough". But when Ive shot the Excals(whether it was Zak's or Eric's), it felt right. I know youve said the triggers are the same, but they werent for me. I dont usually dump paint, and Im not very fast on long strings. But when I had that Excal in my hand, I did both. Its a very worthy marker, as an electro a much better choice than an E-mag/X-Mag IMO(and thats coming from a mag fan).

Ha, when it's worth owning a few it's worth learning as much as you can. :D
But my wallet feels naked and violated.

LOL. Anyone who has asked my opinion regarding E/X-Mags knows I am not the biggest fan of their design. I would usually recommend a superior alternative. In the best interest of AGD, these opinions and conversations were largely private.
