View Full Version : What if no paintball guns were allowed to be manufactuered...
and all we had left were used guns, which guns do you think would last the longest and be the most reusable? In other words, which manufacters design has the ability to go the distance until non-existance? No overly thought debates either...just flat out which marker and why.:candle:

automags and I say that not just because I own one
think of the huge used market now
low mantince
and to my knowledge their is not that many being made right now
You have people making parts such as RPG and I have never bought a new gun from agd
thats my :twocents:
mech mags would last for decades, as well as other mechs, palmers, phantoms, snipers, think of a world with no hps, and no batteries...imagine the possibilities, palmer and agd would flourish

IMHO....
Palmers,Tippmanns and Automags would last a good long while. All are very durable and relatively easy to care for.
Also, the good pumps would go on and on....
In general if this were to happen, I think mech's and pumps would long outlast the electros given enough time.
Now that I think of it...maybe this SHOULD happen it might just be enough to put smart parts out of business!!!

Mags, mech spyders, tippmans, palmers, phantoms, buzzards...
you just can't kill these guns.. at most new o-rings or seals here and there.. other then that.. you are golden for years!

Mech mags, Phantoms and the Old tippmanns(with the new matreial they're using the sears and Valves go out after alittle while) Well cared for Cockers as well. If well cared for the Old Angels and most Bob Longs will last forever but a Mech Mag and a Phantom are definatly your best bet.

I would make a fortune buying and selling them on the black market like my family does with moonshine :)

The reliable guns would be more valuable, and the fast electro's will be the low end market. Tippies, automags, mech guns and pumps would become the gun to play with.

I would have to say my AKA markers have been very low maintenance. They are allso build to a pretty high standerd from what i have seen. I have one that i have not do a thing to besides put oil in her. She has not gone down on me once in the last 3 years. I have owned about ever other kind of gun out there. I think none can touch AKA in the Battary driven category. I hated my Xmag. had so many problems with it. But maybe its time to try another one.

Strange out of all of my Xmags only one I have trouble with is the XKitty but that marker was known to act up from the beginning.:)

running for a VERY VERY long time. :)

Mindseye....I wouldn't have thought that was in the running but if you have enough parts and it runs like a mag I can see where you are coming from.
I will just keep my mags and I know I'll be able to play until my grandson needs to start, then he'll get one of my collection.:D.

Actually, I have that and Mags! While it's not saying much at my age, I have enough parts lying around to keep many of my markers running for a lifetime.

I'm in the same boat. I have enough mag parts to last me a long time.

Prices for anything would probably shoot up and remove what fun is left of paintball for me.
You all would probably start complaining about that, and your disdain for PBN would grow.

In my neck of the woods we have a compressor and scuba tanks in the garage and plenty of spare parts for markers that are already durable and easy to tech. The rise in price would be on paint. I remember paying $135.00 for 2000 rounds of RPS in the early 90s. It's not so bad. I'd just stop walking the trigger. On a positive note, PBN and it's ilk would quickly **** off and die. :)

Mags all the way. I have not replaced so much as a single o-ring on my stock classic that I bought in '01

I'd continue using my Mag... Duh!
A testament to the durability of the Automag Classic valve...
My Level 5 was stored, unbeknownst to me, in the basement, which flooded multiple times. When I relocated it, I decided to "try it out," as I figured the marker would need a complete rebuild. I was wrong... CF00230 gassed up and shot without any trouble.
BTW, the marker was in this basement for nearly 10 years!

You bring up a good point on the volume of paint shot per game.
Would paint still be produced?
If not, remaining quantities would skyrocket in price, I would love to see the outcome of this.

Paint would still be made it has industrial uses. might be pricey but we would pay, we always do.
I am willing to bet my AutoMag will be my greatgrandkids favorite gun.

I would hate to go back to the $120 per case days:( It would purge the sport of many people, although I could see it getting rid of quite a few of the people I would rather not play with. On the other hand, it could get rid of all those accept the ones who have mommy buy the new ubergear and pay for his day of play. This would either save the sport from where it is headed, or kill it. I wonder how it would play out, but I am not so sure I would love to see it happen. Interesting point though:cool:

The scenario is that markers and paint are no longer made.
What would you all do?

Carefully consider whether playing often or at all is worth it. I would likely play less...

I could see A LOT of people converting to pump play, and the entire paintball world would change in a very big way.

I play airsoft more than I play paintball.
It's cheaper, and just as fun, imho.

I have never played airsoft as it never really appealed to me. I am not really a scenario fan either.
