Does $4.50/gallon gas effect how often youll go to the field? Does it effect how much paint youll shoot if you do go out to play? Does it effect whether youll go solo or only with a group to split the costs? Does it effect the style of play you play(electro to mech or pump)? Does it effect the kind of field you play at(organized field vs. outlaw ball)?

Or are you filthy rich and the cost of gas has little effect on your spending habits?:D

For me its not really the $4.00 gas...its the over all econ. Its the ramblings of lay-offs and downsizing. I have been choosing to save more instead of play these last few months...and will cont. to do so untill it all turns around...

not at all, then again the steel business is booming, and i manage HR, we need people to sell and make the stuff... therefore im doing well

The thing that has slowed me down is a reinterest in golf, and the fact its 96 degrees with 100% humidity

even with gas coming down a little bit I don't normally play when it is really hot. the weather is effecting my playing habits right now more than anything.

YES.

but not just paintball. It affects my entire lifestyle.
Being that I live in whats considered a "rural" location, gas prices have hampered my travel to the "big city" for leisure and shopping.

But I'm not the only one.
My business profits from out of state "tourist" make up about 35%. The Californians are not vacationing to the extent that they have in the past, which in turn takes a large chunk out of my bottom line. fifty five thousand to date is no joke, and I don't see it getting better till the election.

I'd like to hear some factual quotes from the store owners on profits from 2 years ago to date... not that I would trust a paintball store owner to be truthful about his books, but in my very personal experience, in my rural area "fun money" is GONE.

I have started golfing again this summer because I can spend two hours at the driving range and putting green for $5. If I want to go play paintball it is at least $25 after paint (a bag), air, and entry fee. The gas is less of an issue because the paintball field and golf course are both within 5 miles of my apartment this summer.

Gas prices haven't put a damper on any of our activities. It's the people that limit my paintball playing.

So far, so good here at the field. The heat is killing us, but that's typical this time of year. It will be interesting to see if we recover as usual, with the same number of customers, when it cools down.

If I was still playing regularly, then no the prices of gas would not affect me. The fact that I'm in school and unable to have a job is what prevents me from playing. Now gas does somewhat attribute to my current situation, but is by no means the reason why I am not playing very often.
