Short Notice Bear Creek Game

OK not quite "short" but it's not the month ahead that a normal game plan would be.

It's still kinda warm out and I don't want to drive way out to SF or places that take many hours of driving. Flyingpootang mentioned he would be down to play and DevilMan plays every week or every other week it seems so here is the proposed plan.

Saturday August 9th
Bear Creek Paintball

Nice relaxing day in the shade of the Santa Clara forests (that are not burned down), and a day of leisure plinking at people. There is only 1 field and there are always at least 10-15 renters to this is not a day to go all out.

Actually the reason I am liking it is that because most of the players are new and very entry level skills, I am able to do something I have failed to do in every other situation.

yes that is right. Last time I went there I used up only 1 case of paint! I was so proud. This time I plan to try and use up no more than 1000 rounds and practice 1 balling people.

As usual I am going to try and make it as cheap to go as I can so Ill be trying to carpool up with some of the locals. I will be ordering some of that high end GAP paint that I was so happy with last time.

If you wish to come Ill add your name to the bottom of this list as I check back.


Final note. I am thinking mid September we should try for another full blown game. You know the, "buy 4 cases of paint and drive to a field 3+ hours away" kind of day. I'll make a thread mid August and see what people think.

Last time I think it was 58.... Not sure on shipping as it changes as UPS changes their rates.

Do you want Mid or High grade??? I know Z wants High... I usually run Mid... cheaper and I like it... less breaks when I run with half filled pods.... Z don't have that problem .....:footinmouth:

Not my choice.... company deal. We won a thing and that's the prize we picked. More than me involved in the planning of it. We have some $$$ to spend on doiing something and well that is what the other guys came up with so I sure as hell wasn't gonna argue....

I'm gonna toss another idea out there today to em but the date won't change...

Sorry.... depending on the time I may do both. I'm thinking we won't be racing til the afternoon anyway.... just have to make it work...

Hardy freakin' har. I won't be wearing cleats anymore unless I'm on grass. Nothing was broken or torn and I've almost got full range of motion back :nunchaku:. On a side note, MRI's suck. It is very hard to lay in one postion and not move for a half an hour.

Sat AM ~> BearCreek for a day of PB'ing & BS'ing...
Sat 1500 ~> BearCreek closes... yes I know it's early... It's how they do it.
Sat 1600 ~> Meeting the rest of the guys at GoKartRacer up in Burlingame. Anyone else interested is welcome to join in.
Sat 1730 ~> Give or take on the time... We'll be going to dinner after the karting.

Soooooo... that's the plan for me.

On the Paintball note.... I'm ordering paint on FRIDAY of this week. So to make sure that we get the right stuff at the right time. So if anyone is interested in getting some GAP paint let me know.

It's just up 280 a bit... and Saturday afternoon... so not sure of traffic, but I'm gonna try and get the guys to leave here to meet there about 30mins later.

What would you say the time to get from BC to GKR would be???

Alright... so far I have on order 2 cases of midgrade and 1 case of high grade stuff....

I'll be placing the order Friday.... So I'll get the paint maybe Wednesday of next week....

If anyone else wants me to get it for them let me know. For the most part I shoot the mid grade as it's not a fragile and I move quite a bit so I have a tendency to mulch paint in my hopper and pods. That's why I shoot the mid... PLUS it shoots better than anything else that I could get sooooo it's still an upgrade.

Anyone else gonna show??? Or is this gonna be a low turn out day??

What be the quickest route to his place? Lets say from 680, or just give me an actual address and I can google it.

You'll be taking the 580 to the 680... 680 South... when 680 crosses 101 it becomes 280... Stay on 280 over 17 and hang a left there... 17 south to Los Gatos keep going and take the BearCreek Road exit just past Los Gatos. The exit is to the right and you just take the right and go up BearCreek Road. Go 3.8 miles to where you see 35 branch to the right... that gravel lot just past 35 is where you can turn down the gravel drive to the right. Come down to the field on the left... You can't miss the field.

I have another gal coming up with me.... I spent last night trying to make sure most of the markers were working right... :D Putting together mags from spare parts and airing them up to verify... :D

Looks good. I should have enough guns but only have 4 tanks, 4 goggs and all of my hoppers... well most of them are the small pocket hoppers. :D Though I'm sure I can borrow some of the regular sized ones from BC.

Yeah I hope to be there earlier, but it's about 1.5 hours for me. So getting up at 6 to hit the road at 7 on a Saturday is just freaking stupid!!!!

:D My plan is to be at Marina WalMart at 0730-0745 and on the road by 0800 that will put me there around 0930.

I'm trying to hammer out travel arrangements as I have quite a few folks from down here coming up and I won't be coming back south to bring them back. Luckily that's only 1 person that I have to worry about but she's new and well it's not fair to say GO WITH THEM!!!! :D

Sooooooo.... Gotta hash that plan out.

But 0900-0930 I hope to be there and field ready by 1000.

So yeah..... I know of at least 4 on my side that this was the first time ever touching a pb marker and 1 of my guys (Steve) took breaks to take pics quite a few games. He has them posted up on the other site and I'm going to get them cross linked over to here, just haven't yet.

But with a 19 to 9 was that one game when 5 of our guys crossed sides to your side it was the 2 camo guys and Blane I know. Not sure who else went. But out of 30 folks with 15 being "vets" you had 12 of em....

So I think we did alright with making you worry and holding out for more than one game with it being a draw at least :nana: Would have made a draw of the other elimination game had the ref on your side not given up my position to the 3 new chicks that spent the whole game at the start box. It was down to 30 seconds when he pointed me out to them and your camo guys were going up the side across the top looking for me. He pointed me out and so they shot me...

All it all it was a good day but I wish that the sides had been levelled a bit more.

If there are more gunners on my side than I've named by all means let me know... These are the only ones that I can remember. I'm not sure of by maybe 1 to 3 other folks that had their own gear and weren't renting.

But anywho.... You gonna do it this weekend again???
