Obama has vowed to close guantanamo in the first month of his presidency, by doing this, it will further entrench war criminals in our Judicial system "main stream".
For some reason lib's feel that these foreign war prisoners deserve the "rights" that men fight and die for.
I feel this is unacceptable.
So if this wasn't already FUBAR, now the U.N. is going to give America a spanking for Executing a convicted murderer, who happens to be a Mexican illegal.
This Illegal Alien Brutally gang raped and murdered a 14 yearold and a 16yearold 15 years ago in Texas.... and the United Nations court has found that the United States violated an international treaty because some justice was served.

I have more to type but I'm really °°°°ed off... discuss, I'll see if I can come back to this.

Do I believe non-citizens have the same rights as citizens? No.
Do I believe its possible as our society will grant them the same rights by changing the laws? Yes.
Do I believe that rapist/murderer got what he deserved/justice? Yes.
Do I believe that the US under the control of the left will give up some of our sovereignty to "United" organization under the guise of "cooperation"? Yes.
Give it time, we will give away our sovereignty, and ultimately many of our freedoms should this continue. Its a new world, where murderers and rapists get more sympathy than hard-working law-abiding citizens who save and invest the fruits of their labor...only to give it to "entitlement" programs.

I feel foreigners do have rights on US soil, the same rights as we have (to some extent). In the same vein, I do not believe they deserve any special treatment. When a foreigner is found doing something illegal in our country, I believe he should be tried and serve the penalty in our country.
As an American who has traveled all over the world I have always had to know the local laws. In most cases I could not expect the country I was visiting to happily ship me home if I were to do something illegal. Why should America be an exception to this?
Case in point...
Michael Fay was an American living in Singapore. He willingly and knowingly broke laws in Singapore and as such was punished in accordance with the Singapore legal system. Americans everywhere made a big deal out of it, using one excuse or another. President Bill Clinton even got involved, asking that he be deported back to the US instead of serving his sentence.
But why? Michael Fay wasn't (and isn't) special. In fact, everyone I know who knew him said he was an °°°°°°°. No, it was because, as an American, he was expected to be treated "better" than everyone else.
Where am I going with this? Basically, I think Americans should get off their high horse and stop thinking we're better than everyone else and that we deserve these rights we have while nobody else does.
To me, the only good reason for Gitmo and military tribunals is maintaining the potential secrecy of military operations from the enemy. There are other ways to accomplish that, imo. I do not agree with keeping prisoners indefinitely without trial.
And the issue with the Mexican illegals was handled correctly, imo - no special treatment.

To the same degree? No. However they should have Rights to begin with. We get trounced if we go to another country and break their laws, as it should be. The same should be true for others who break our laws.
International war criminals have a different set of rules as brought upon in the Geneva Conventions. We call it the "Law of Armed Conflict"and it is what holds us to a higher standard than the °°°°tards we are fighting.
Military tribunals (as the ones you are reffering to) are also supposed to have a good bit of impartiality with multiple countries being involved. Since the offenders are multinational terrorist types. Think war crimes and such.
Michael Fay got what he deserved. The illegal gang raping Mexican got what he deserved.

I mean no offense to you, but that is the problem with people today. °°°° everyone else.
America is better than everyone else. America is the greatest nation in the world. If you dont like America (the Constitution) then leave. I am sure there is a middle eastern country that would love to have you.
Foreigners should NOT get the same rights on US soil as US citizens. They should not get free healthcare, They should not get citizenship due to their children being born here, etc, etc. If you come to America and cost us money then you should be in debt to the US.
If a Foreigner commits X crime on US soil we should try him for that crime, and after the punishment we will send them back to their country. These people should NOT be held on US soil. Upon releasing the Foreigner his or her bill for staying in jail should be paid in full. Thats right you cost the US money you should have to pay for it. (I believe the same for domestic jail systems also with having to pay). At the end of your sentence if you cannot pay you work off your debt (Not on US soil. At someplace similar to guantanamo stamping license plates etc). Then and only then can you be returned to your country.
If a Foreigner commits a crime against the US and has NO country ties (IE terrorist). They should not get any rights. We will give you a trial when we get time, and if found guilty then the only punishment is death. If found innocent we hold you indefinitely until a country claims you.
I am not saying we need to be inhumane, but what is the reason for being an American if you give every other person around the world benefits of being American without the work.
