Single or Dual Detents?

Which do you prefer?

Obviously dual detents cost more than single. Is the extra cost important to have a second(possibly unnecessary) detent?

If you could choose between marker/body with a single detent(and a little cheaper) or a dual detent marker/body(and a little more expensive)...which would you choose?

I like the idea of making a detent that does the job. Needing 2 kinda implies that you made the first one under par and thus you have to double up for your mistake.

I am withholding my vote until It is apparent what you are after in this poll.

IF the goal of this poll is an Issue of "cost".
I chose less expensive, with dual detents.

Dual detents are inherently more expensive than a single. 2 will always cost more than 1. So you cant have a dual detent marker/body for 'less expensive'.

i like dual'es for the symmetry that they offer. I am waiting for someone to make a detent that threads in infront of the feedneck at an angle so there is no need for detents on the sides. or also from underneath

Ah, detents are like prostitutes in that way. And in similar fashion Id rather pay a little extra for two. :wthumpup:

I like dual because a paintball is held back at two exact but opposite points. Not that I ever had a problem with it but small bore paint could be held more to one side with the single detents.

1 does the job but dual detents seems to be more sought after. If I had to choose I would say dual. Cost is not an issue for me.

I think i am with At-tach on this one.
One does the job and two just seems to look more balanced look to the gun. Its kinda like the 03 viking eye covers. The one long one throws off the look of the guy. So if we are after looks i would vote 2. If we are after cheap and get the job done i vote 1.

I agree one gets the job done. I never had a double feed even when using a QLoader the last few years.

I'm gonna go with dual. If by some reason one gets blown out (which has happened to me) you have a "back-up" to get you through the rest of the game.

If I remember correctly, quad detents on an AKA had more to do with the ball being slightly ahead of the bolt on the first shot, not so much double feeding. I think there was another mod you could do like add an O-ring to the hammer or something. I dont quite remember it exactly though.

I pick dual detents as I like how they look and I am all about overkill. I guess I am still working past the "because I can upgrade it that is why" stage.

Perhaps someday I will get to where I will only upgrade things that make a practical (as opposed to aesthetic or psychological) difference. In the mean time I own 3 barrel kits that do the exact same thing but gosh darn it they look good.
