Well, the Excal finally arrived:evillaugh::evillaugh::evillaugh:

A-Tach said it was in great condition, and it is. Definitly impressed and worth every penny.

I need to get this machine a rail drop for a CP On/Off, and then off to the nearest field...

I can hold my own with a mech marker. Even up against electros. Its my preferred marker of choice.

There are many electro markers that would work for me if I wanted to ramp. But the Excal was one of the very few that works for me in semi-auto.

I normally dont go through more than 1 or 2 pods in a game. I blew through 5 or 6 with the Excal within the first couple minutes. Is this a good thing? Dont know, but it sure was fun...

I was so used to playing pump all last season (even in scneario games!) that when I built my latest mag... I blew through 4 pods and a hopper in one 20 minute game. Now I am showing a little more constraint and picking my shots as if I were playing pump. It is a disease we all have at some point in time LOL
PS- I will be sending a box and Confirmation # your way on Monday

Get an '03 excal that is stock, and have it milled with all the DC FSP goodness, and then get that re-anno'd. Even better if you can find a beater that is in poor shape aesthetically.

Yeah 325 for the halfmil.. is it just me or have I not seen an Excal as low priced as that.

I picked up a stock 03 excal for 350 the other day. I think a lot of people are having trouble selling, and/or they just don't know what its worth.

Then again there is a 500 dollar stock 03 excal that is still on the chopping block for quite some time now.

well their prices are still pretty good for an 04 gun. albeit they are better then all guns 05+. excals are taking a hit because people arent buying into the closed bolt vs open bolt argument anymore. They are going to go down a lil and be inline with viking prices soon or just a tad higher.

you know, I never believed that closed bolt was more accurate.. UNTIL i got the excal.

The rumors? Yeah they are true, they just are. I have no scientific way to explain it, but its true. my excal shoots more accurate than any other marker I have ever owned.

Well, I can tell you why it 'may' be true. Firing a single action marker has allot more 'effective' recoil than double action. This is where the 'creep' phenomenon comes from. As you shoot, the barrel wants to creek upwards.

The double action of the Excal(and other DA markers) largely cancels the reciprocating mass, enabling you to keep your marker on point much easier than single-action.

This may be conjecture and a pie of °°°° explanation, but it is one I have considered as possible.

I was actually thinking much along those lines. I don't buy that there is something about the air or the bolt that makes the ball travel in a more precise line; I would call that snake oil. But consider this.

When a human being is directing the fire of any paintball marker (or real weapon for that matter), what is the first and largest variable in accuracy?

Is it something on the marker or is something about the person?

Like you I just popped my excal cherry. I raise your swirl with a smooth mill featherlight:

mine weighs in at exactly 3lbs as shown with a 14in behemoth of a tightbore javelin. Got a SST and darkworks trigger enroute from DC.

Rogue,

I guess you got a couple of games with your new Excal.
So now what is your review on it?

Or is it to early and you are still on cloud nine? :) haha

I havent been able to get a couple games with this one yet. Hope to have it up and running all decked out soon. I just have so much going on that I have to spread myself thin to get a little of everything done.
