Nope. Charge away.

Fully discharging the battery pack is bad. You run the risk of putting reverse voltage through the individual cells, which damages them. Don't worry about the 'memory effect' it is a myth.

Not exactly. Ni-CD batteries do have a memory effect, and should be discharged prior to charging to prevent the memory effect. With Ni-MH batteries (like the ones in a emag pack) you don't have to worry about it. But totally discharging them is bad because it can cause the batteries to reverse polarity.

ding ding ding
depends on type of cell.

is there not a battery out there that can exert enough power to the emag noid but still keep weight/size down?

Is there a way to use a pair of Ni-Mh 9 volts? I'd like to know too.
or anyone ever tap into the emag battery pack to also run a halo?

Wrongo.
NiCD batterys have a potential for a memory effect if they are trickle charged at the exact same point over and over. If this is repeated over and over the battery will have a memory. BUT it must be precisley charged from the exact amout of discharge. Also quick charging negates any memory effect. You have to work at getting a memory effect. More damage is caused by people discharging battery packs and overcharging than anything else. Most people attibute thier low battery capacity to the 'memory effect' but this is not true, in most cases the decreased capacity is due to damaged cells. If you want to discharge a nicd battery pack, you MUST discharge each cell individually to prevent reverse cell voltage.
Google it, you will find much info on the memory effect myth.

Go li-***(Lithium polymer) they have a much higher power desity than nicads or hydrides. But I think you will need to make a voltage regulator to keep the board happy. I switched my t-boarded spyder to a li-***(lithium polymer) battery pack to be able to fire 50cps. Battery life increased as well.
EDIT: jesus christ, battery types are censored too?

ta2maki... Thank you for posting this important information. The myths surrounding memory effect in NiCads is very difficult to dispell, and posts like this help to kill it.
The only issue with LiIon is that the voltage is difficult to get to the proper point. Charging/balancing can be difficult, but not impossible. One thing you need to take into account is that high amperage voltage regulators are annoying to deal with... They have efficency and reliability problems.
