From MCB:

DYE/Protos new release of the "Super Light Gun", SLG for short, and "slug" as far as slang is concerned, has been a huge topic due to it's low price and it's operating system. It's internals are similar to that of an Emag, but it costs roughly the same price as a new ***, startin somewhere in the low-mid $200s. With Emag lowers going for anywhere from $350 to $500, this is big news. It also marks DYEs first attempt at a single tube marker.

Unfortunately, you're going to have a tough time getting one for some time. The same can be said of DM8s and PM8s, as well as any gear that DYE/Proto genuinely produce themselves. After checking around locally, and making a call to DYEs business offices, it appears that their production facilities are being effected by the wildfires of California. Their corporate offices are located outside the affected areas, but when it comes to production nothing is getting in or getting out.

While this is sad news for some potential customers, it's great for current SLG owners looking to sell their used markers, and stores who already stocked the marker. It seems that $275 new and $225 used is going to be the standard price for the marker, at least until DYE starts shipping again, when hopefully the MSRP will be reinstated by most stores.

On a related note, the Sheriffs Department caught Billy Gardner doing 95mph down the California Turnpike in his Maserati. Apparently the trunk was loaded with $150 IONs, and he had an empty gas can and a zippo lighter in the back seat....

Interesting. Also funny how people are picking up on the emag similarities. Then again, every paintball gun is similar in many aspects.

curious to see if it mimics the mags performance?
