Bolt Stick

I was getting an air leak down the barrel on my X-Valve with level 10. I switched out the carrier from a 1.5 to a 0.5 (didn't have a 1). Now, I get bolt stick. It has 3 shims in the powertube as well.

Should I get a size 1 carrier, shim/ de-shim or other?

If all you did was switch the carrier and that stopped the leak, then it sounds like the carrier. Id get a 1.0.

Well, I swapped it back out to the other sized carried to make sure that's what it was and it got stuck again. Took the valve out and the bolt was still stuck. So I looked to see what it was getting stuck on. The detente was too far in. Backed it out a little. Switched back to the 0.5 carried and it works great now!

Tenacious tightening of the detents can do that. Glad you figured it out.

Yeah, I just got the body in and I'm guessing the last guy tightened it down. Gotta figure out some way to get it work, without pinching the bolt.
