I must say...The playoffs have been far more competitive than I thought they would be. Anybody's team still in it?

I'm with the Lakers, but it's nice to see Orlando leading their series.

As a San Fernando Valley kid, I started following the Lakers in 1963. They finally won their first NBA championship in LA in 1972. I don't care that much anymore, but I see no reason to give up on them just yet. :)

I was a big Lakers fan as a kid when Magic & Kareem played. That was, IMO, the golden era of basketball. Their rivalry with the Celtics/Bird/McHale was electric. That was when it seemed players played for the love of the game.
When sports went hollywood, I largely stopped watching. After seeing Rodman during the strike cry on TV that they only make minimum wage broke the proverbial camels back. Same for the other sports too.
But after the Shaq/Koby fiasco and the Koby drama on his own, I was done with todays Lakers.

I don't care much for professional sports in general anymore, but that's another subject. My view of the current Lakers is more like DNA brain cell memory. It's not West and Baylor. It's not Magic and Kareem. It's not even Shaq and Kobe, but it's still the Purple and Gold.
Im not a Kobe fan but I am a Laker Fan! Go LA!!
I dont like him because of the whole cheating on his wife bs that went on a few years ago.
He is one of the best players that have played the game, and I dont think there is a team that can beat them.
/dont care who wins. basket ball is my least favorite sport. one behind table tennis(ping pong).

Haha, I love to play table tennis.
Really the only time I watch Basketball or Football is playoff time. I prefer to watch Soccer or MMA fighting.

I will hear of no such thing :hands over ears:
So I like to watch soccer.
I use to watch it in the 90s when it was more popular. its hard to find it on tv now days. soccer is defiently more exciting to watch (or play) than baseball or basketball.
Hockey ftw.
Go penguins.

I think the MLS sucks. I tend to watch European soccer, I prefer their style of play. I tried to get into hockey but I have no idea why I cant get into it.

Europeans are nutty about their soccer. I was in Europe in the late 90's during a World Cup...holy °°°°.

Let's be honest here. These riots are perpetrated by a certain segment of the LA population. We all know who these groups are. They've rioted on the drop of a dime before, and will do so again. I think Laker guilt by association is pretty thin here, however I will agree that the NBA's overall embrace of the hip hop culture has lowered its own standards to street level.

Rogue: Don't hate on the Lakers. You're just anti Kobe because he torched the Nuggets. Secretly, I think you wanted the Nuggets to win so you could torch your neighborhood too. I set fire to a few cop cars myself. I knid of feel bad for the cops inside the cars though...
