Well folks looks like NXE is jumping into the hopper market, 2 sets of eyes, a screw design to feed the paintballs into the channel, a tap to open flip top, runs on 4 AA batteries or 2 lithium-*** rechargable camcorder batteries and a replacable feedneck, and easy to clean since the motor housing comes out with a tab you pull.

lots of good features.

I really wanna check one of these out.

Though, i cnt imagine what the cost will be. NXe stuff is usually expensive anyhow...

They'll be $120 which isn't really bad for a highend hopper anymore. The auger system will be interesting to see how it preforms. NXE does a great job on thier soft goods, so hopefully this will be great product as well.

Holy crap... it's a WAS "corkscrew"... I'll swing by Jim Drews shop and see what he has to say about this "NEW" concept, and If he has anything to do with it.

If NOT, NXE has clearly ran with his design.

old PBN link when Jim Drew first leaked info for his corkscrew design.
http://www.pbnation.com/showthread.php?t=150927

Jim had all his posts deleted of PBN but there is still loads of info pertaining to this "NEW" NXE loader.

Dang....something new...that's awesome. It's great to see a totally new design.

I'm interested.

Nice to see innovative ideas.

Interesting... hope it doesn't fall into any patent issues as the Pulse did. The auger design looks very different than other designs, so it shouldn't... but you just never know...

This loader could very well turn into a patent issue. the loader has several of the "key features" that Jim drew came up with back in 2001/2002

We spoke about a "in-line auger" drive system, modular design, removable feed necks.

At that time he had drawings and some prototyped parts.
Jim blew a lot of smoke on the net in those days, but I know from personal firsthand knowledge that this is VERY close to what he had in mind.

I'll speak with him this week and see what he has to say about this "new" and "innovative" design.

Its good to see some people moving in a different direction.

Maybe its possible JD sold his R&D to NXe. p8ntball72, keep us updated as to what you find out.

That is interesting for sure. I am gonna be in the market for a new hopper soon and that should be right up my alley...

I would hope that after the Pulse debacle, NXe would have been smart enough to look into this before making a new hopper.
But who knows. I think i would like to pick one up, so i hope they come out as planned.

The more I look at this, the more I want one. The auger idea is intriguing. How does it not break paint?

I think if this loader is priced at $120, its something I will be buying just to try out.

Well I'm just gonna sit tight on this, my empire b has been doing ok so far and I just got the magna drive clutch kit for it. I'll sit on this for now and see how the product does in the real world after the 1st and 2nd wave of players critique it.

Yeah I'd like to see how it does, but it does looks like it has some good features....ecspecially the feedneck. I’m digging the looks of the hopper too as well as the price, compared to the new empire one which looks like throw-up and costs way too much

I'll be getting one of these in to test as soon as they come out. I'll do a review and some preformance videos on it at that time.

Excellent. I would probably interested in picking one up if you are carrying them.

This is one of those things that I saw and instantly started yelling profanities because It's so simple and I didn't think of it...

The more I look at this, the more I want one. The auger idea is intriguing. How does it not break paint?

I'm guessing it's a lot gentler (?or more gentle?) than we think. I know when i first saw the Velocity the words 'paint blender' instantly came to mind.

If you think about it, Q-pods seem to work fine.

I've stood beside the HALO since they were released, but I'm really looking forward to these becoming available on the market

Me too. I'd rather be amazed by simplicity than dazzled by complicated BS. I look forward to the first reviews on this one.

Dont you have to pre-load the Q-pods?

The auger reminds me of my ice box ice-cube crusher.

This seems like a pretty neat idea, I plan on picking one up. If somebody gets one on the quick-please post up a review, I'd like to know how they perform.

I will have them, but the release date isn't until Feb 1st. They don't even have a final product, just a prototype.

Yes, you have to pre-load them.

However the principles remain the same with the difference that one is spring loaded and one is powered.

We use Qloaders on some of our experimental projects, and they are fabulous. The downside to the Q has always been the limited capacity.

As to the auger design... Pretty cool! I may pick one up, as I have a habit of killing Halos. I believe I have that problem solved with the Cheetah board, but I haven't tested it throughly.

I spoke with Jim drew of WAS fame today and he is VERY interested in NXe's use of a "corkscrew" force feed, He said he would call NXe and take a look at the info released.

I know for a fact and have seen prototype drive assemblies, notes, and images back in 2002 for this auger driven loader that Jim had planned to bring to market.

Equalizer board manufacturing in those days was huge and with Jim at full production, the loader... along with many other electronic upgrades were back burnerd.

He was hesitant to divulge any info as to what he has in the way of "protection", But did state that he had a working relationship with NXe and was confident that if there was an "issue" it would easily be resolved.

Interesting. I would think that a company such as Nxe would have done their homework.

how long has NXe been in business?,
the only Info released publicly were "Jim drewism" tidbits in a tread on PBN from 2002. {although I got to see more personaly}

Like I said, I don't know what Jim has in the way of protection, it may be nothing... and that would be unfortunate because this was his Invention. {corkscrew feed}

Could turn out like the Palmer/ Bud Orr debate... who invented the autococker fiasco.

They probably just never heard of it. If he didn't file any patent applications or anything and the only info were the posts he removed from PBN they probably just never heard of it.

At this point, if 1)it works 2)is reasonably priced and 3)The shells dont break...Id consider one.

The one thing Ive always hated about hoppers is the fact they break so easily. A $120 piece of 'high-end' equipment should be damned near indestructible.

$120 is MSRP so it'll probably be cheaper. From what I've seen I am excited to get my test one. I hope it passes because I like the theory and look. I'll make sure and let everyone know about it as soon as I get mine in Feb.

BUMP....

Interested to hear any updates.

Holy resurected thread...

I believe they are still not availible to the public, last reason I heard is the parts that were being made overseas were not meeting quality standards. Wouldn't be supprized if that's still the case.

I still have high hopes for the new feed design as opposed to the design that is used halos, reloader Bs, torques, pulses, magnas...yadda yadda.

I keep hearing a couple more weeks whenever I ask my rep for an update on the status and if anything is going to be forthcoming..so at this point it's pretty much Vaporware but if I hear anything I'll let everyone know..
