View Full Version : TV lately
Is it me, or does TV suck lately. I finally blew a fuse when I scrolled on what is going to be on tonight, and saw another "Im a celebrity get me out of here" show on. WTF have we become when you take a pot of F list celebrities, and parade them like they are some type of show.
I watch less and less TV as I get older, but come on. Seriously. Give me Baywatch/Walker Tx ranger/Hogans Heros reruns. I am tired of the junk that they pass as tv today.
/just thought I would vent.

Summers always suck. Some are waiting for the summer reality shows.
Ive been watching much less TV. All the good actors are leaving their shows(CSI, Criminal Minds, etc). But overall, there is at least 1 good show per night.
What has really sucked for at least the past decade is good movies. I can remember many when I was in my youth. Nowadays its not about the script but tits/°°° and explosions. Much like ramping, that gets old quick. Gotta have some substance.

this is true too. the first movie that I am looking foward to purchasing is the new one with clint eastwood.
It is sorta amazing what passes for movies/tv today.

We used to have family movie night when I was real young. So it was a habit of mine to watch at least a movie a week. I cant even imagine someone making a classic movie like Breakfast Club these days.

Kid's ( & some adults ) will watch anything now days
I gave up on TV when I started really getting serious in School. My third year in junior college woke me up. Now, TV drives me crazy. After not watching it for 6 years I have a whole new perspective on it. Life will literally pass you by while you sit in front of that thing.
I do like movies a lot though. My dad worked in the studios so my family had a vested interest in seeing the movies my Dad worked on seeing as how they were putting food on the table. To this day I really enjoy movies and find my self even more entertained by them since I do not feel as desensitized to images on a big glowing screen anymore.
I don't know I figure TV might be my pal when I get old and gray but now I have too much to do before the end of all of this.
The only bad thing about not watching TV is sometimes it makes for awkward moment when people are trying to relate to you through TV shows or something.
I don't follow sports much either so I often have a blank stare when people begin talking to me about stuff like TV shows and sports...my close friends got used to it. Looking back I am happy I spent little time infront of the idiot box. But to each their own...

Torrents make your life so much simpler. Watch what you want, get it all in 1 go, and throw it out if you did snag a loser.
Also I now have the greatest t-shirt to play paintball in and it's going to debut at Castle Conquest. And it's going to rock.

TV does pretty much blow lately...
There are only about 2 shows that I watch regularly and everything else is filler.
Of course, my fiancee LOVES a lot of the reality shows but mostly the competition-type rather than the drama.
Sadly, I've been so wrapped up in other things lately that I never seem to find time to watch tv or even play Xbox :(
Personally, I'd love to just cancel my cable subscription altogether and just get the free OTA-HD programming but I know that wouldn't fly w/ my better half ;)

I just got cable ~ 1.5 years ago. I went without it for ~3 years (from when I moved out of my parents until I could afford it). We now have ~ 100 channels with HBO for 24.99mo with comcast. they changed our rates every~4-6 months, and I call and tell them to cancel it. They ask why, and I explain that it is not worth it to me & they allow me to keep my low price. I wouldn't miss it if it were gone.
