Hello everyone, this is my first post on PBLegion. I have just purchased my first XMag and I am having a problem with firing paintballs in electronic mode. The XMag works in mechanical mode.

I removed the grip panel and saw this:

It seems to be missing a wire or two. What are those two plugs used for?

Thanks for the help in advance.

Thats perfectly normal... One empty socket is used for the intellicable if you are using a warp feed (can also be used for the RF chip on the magna loader) and the other one i'm not sure about, but it isnt used.

As for your marker not shooting in e-mode, there are multipe problems that could cause it:

- Battery not fully charged or bad battery (check voltage, the original batteries tend to go bad)
- On/off pin too long (must be .712" length, gave me a ton of grief when i had one xmag with a longer pin. Worked either e- or mech mode but not both)
- Bad solenoid (these things tend to wear out sometimes)
- Incorrect solenoid plunger lenth

If you are not able to check it out properly i would advise to send it to somebody who knows these frames. Either Ruler_mark or Tunaman, those guys can check your frame and tune it to perfection.

does the screen turn on when you pull the yellow pin?

Are you trying to fire it without paint? If you are and the ACE is turned on it will not fire.

That would be my first question. Does the board boot up when you turn the on/off switch on. The switch is located on the passenger side of the body towards the front, incase you dont know. Its a little spring.

The board boots up when I turn it on. The software is 2.1.

I tried it with paint and it doesn't fire.

The board definatly needs a software update... It is surely not the problem, but most Xmags were outfitted with AGD 3.2. If you know somebody with a programmer, i would certainly reccommend Xmod 1.8 on that gun. Compaired to the standard AGD software, its either nice and fluffy or bad and nasty. (xmod)

If you have no expierence with tweaking x/emags at all, i reccomend you send it in to either Ruler_mark or Tunaman as i told you before. They can tune your gun and also flash the board if you want to. Unfortunatly there are so many variables that come with this frame that stop it from working great. But a properly tuned e/xmag with xmod and a good battery will tear people up just as good as the latest and greatest out there. :glare:

also the trigger magnet could be out of alignment (too far/close away from the HES sensor)

Does the solenoid make a clicking noise? With your grip off slide the plunger up and see if it snaps back down when you pull the trigger.

I pulled the plunger up, pressed the trigger and it made no clicking sound.

Again no clicking sound. Batteries are charged.

So while the plunger was up, you pulled the trigger and the plunger didn't snap down?

Ok, then try adjusting the magnet in the trigger. The grub screw may need to be turned in. Try that first.

If not, see if the magnet is loose on the grubscrew. I have seen some magnets get flipped upside down. When upside down, it will not activate the HES. But this usually only happens when a person switches triggers out and accidently flip it.

I have tried screwing in the grub screw all the way in. The solenoid still doesn't make a clicking noise.

I have noticed when I flip the XMag upside down that the plunger moves to the up position. When I flip it back the plunger moves to the down position. Is the solenoid bad?

Here is what my gruber screw looks like.

The magnet is not glued to the grub screw.

When I turn on the XMag it says AGD 2.1 for a few seconds and the goes away. It then starts flashing a little red dot.

It does the same thing when the grub screw is taken out of the trigger.

When I turn on the XMag what position is the plunger supposed to be at? It is in the down position when I turn on the XMag.

Try flipping the magnet over and reinstall the grub screw. In small increments turn it back in and test it by pulling the trigger. Push in the saftey. It is easier to hear the noid click when the saftey is pressed in. If that wasn't it, flip the magnet to original position. Without having this marker in front of me, I got to say this sure sounds like a HES magnet adjustment issue.

Honestly I have had one other thing cause this same problem and it was a bad ACE board. The ACE board froze up. And it always read that there was nothing in the breech so it wouldn't fire. Didn't matter if I turned the ace on or off, it was frozen..

It is possible it is a bad noid or bad HES harness but is rare for these to happen. It maybe a good idea to send that bad boy into someone to give it a once over. :(

It should be down. The plunger will raise when aired up.

Thanks A-Tach for the help. I will see if my proshop can fix it, if not I would have to send it to someone.

No problem, sorry we aren't getting this done for you. RulerMark is a great person to send a marker to. Tunaman is great to but is usually jammed pack with work and could take a while.

I'm thinking you must live in "imagination land"....

The places I've been wouldn't know the least little bit about a mag... let alone an X mag... I would NOT leave it with them for repair.

These things are tooooo simple to figure out I think. Have you done it with the eyes OFF to see if it will click?

You can test the noid by putting a battery to the contacts, granted I would have it removed from the gun, but it's at least a way to test it.
