Hey Dan!

The only unanswered e-mail I recall having received from you arrived Thursday. Its in a stack of e-mails ready for work Monday morning. I answered the one that came in on Wednesday.

I answer e-mails within 24-48 business hours in the order received. Weekends are my time to get non-work stuff done and spend personal time with the family. So I will be back in the office answering e-mails on Monday.

If Stinger has made a template, thats news to me. Its not something I provide, so youll have to ask them if theyve made one for the Triton.

Hi Rogue. NP. Thanks for letting me know. I don't think Stinger has any templates that would fit. I was looking through, and didn't see anything. Thanks again!!!

The new grips make it even easier to switch hands. There is no hang up like there might be occasionally with the rubber grips. Very smooth transition. I would love an aluminum set.

Im glad you like them. Unfortunately, I dont see aluminum sets ever being produced. Between the increased cost in aluminum, the additional machine time, and the finish work(polish, ano), the price would be looking at ~$75 for a pair and there would need to be at least 50 willing to pay that.

Sorry, no. This is the only configuration the frame currently comes in. Thats one of the reasons for the price drop, one configuration means I can assemble them in bulk saving time/money and passing those savings onto the buyer.

Anyone know if the Cheater pneukit is a drop in on this frame?

Stayhuge
11-25-2009, 12:46 PM
I think someone mentioned that it was not a drop in, and the frame needed to be milled a little. But they were made to AGD Specs, so if anything, you might need to just sand the anno off the inside a little. I think that was the case with some of the Chimeras.

Thanks for the reply. How different do these feel to an Intelliframe?

The only frame I am aware of that was made to be a drop-in for was the Intelliframe. Thats because the grip holes are what Zap uses to hold the Cheater in place. No other frame will have those holes in the exact same spot as an Intelliframe, so other frames will need to be drilled/tapped.

The frame StayHuge is referring to is vf-xx's Chimera(Vert Frame). The amount needing to be removed was very slight.

Makes sense. I'm just curious about the Triton, it's interesting because it looks fairly similar to an Intelliframe in design - I'm just curious how different it is in feel. When I look at other frames (e.g. the Chimera) you can clearly see the difference in intended function/feel but the Triton doesn't really jump out at me like that.

This isn't a slight against the frame, I'm just generally curious what the intent of the design is. I like the way they look.

RogueFactor
11-25-2009, 07:38 PM
Intelliframes and the like are 45 handgun frames. The Chimeras are 90's like the UZI submachine gun. The Triton is a hybrid frame between the 2, what some call an 86* frame.

The Triton is modelled similarly to the CCM 86* frame.

A 45 frame is similar to a handgun. But handguns are meant to be held out in front of you when fired. Something paintballers dont normally do.

The 90 frames are modelled after UZIs. This shooting style shoots from the hip. Also something that paintballers dont do much of.

Hybrid frames, for paintballing, are IMO the most comfortable for a tightly shoulder tucked firing style. The type of style paintballers do shoot.

I don't see why it wouldn't drop in. The Triton takes a 45 grip just like the inteli frame, so the 2 grip screws would hold the cheater in place.

I bought into the Round 2 cheater run so I will let you know how well it fits the triton.

Now I just need to sell my warp so I have enough $ sitting around in Paypal to buy a Triton.. have to get it done up in matte black before my Cheater gets here...

I didn't care to notice if his frame was mounted different. He has a newer mag with aluminum body and valve

The mounting hole at the rear of the frame is modified to fit the Classic RT. If done wrong, the frame wont mount properly.
