I thought that xmag bodies were different than ule bodies. Am I correct. Xmag are 7000 series and ule bodies are 6000 series?

XMag bodies as I recollect are 7000 series. Thats why the breech(which if I remember correctly) anos different than the body.

Slug bodies also were 7000, this is why the Karta bodies ano differently than the rails which were in the 6000s.

Original ULE bodies were also 7000 if I recall correctly. I think Zupe switched to a 6000 series at some point, but dont hold me to that.

The valve itself is a mix. The front and back half are of slightly different alloys. Thats why if you look real close, youll see they too ano differently. At one time I knew the alloys, but dont remember the numbers. It was either a 66-67XX series, or a 76XX series. But dont hold me to that either.

Could you clarify. So what series aluminum is the breech if the body is 7000? Cause I think we've all seen how the breech can be slightly off in color. Thanks

i thought the bodies are 6061 T6, its the valves that are made of 7075

thats the reason why the valves werent made out of aluminum before 2001-ish, because 7075 was the only aluminum that tom had deemed structrually sound enough for valve bodies, and i think thats when the price of 7075 started to besome reasonable enough to make a profit

Not from what Ive was told in past years by AGD and the CADs for Slug bodies that are floating around have as spec callouts.

Now, I am certainly not saying I am 100% sure of all this. But, consider this...the back reg half of a valve was made out of aluminum for RT Valves and Classic RT Valves. Even Hurricane Labs made aluminum reg housings for Classic Valves. And Classic RT Valves are smaller in diameter(meaning thinner wall thickness) than the XValves are. Do you really think the reason given was the full story?

probably not,, its just what sticks in my head from what i remember from an interview for pig TV when tom released the x-valves and explaining why it took till now (then) to get them out
