How many of you actually remove your barrel during a game if the paint breaks?

Hell, I've torn my entire SFL apart on the field, due to a jammed bolt!

I would say I take my barrel off atleast 3-4 times a day to give it a quick clean (more if i break a ball :smarty:)

Yeah I sure do! I insure that I have cover and get to it when it does happen. Two reasons....first; I have a 16 inch barrel and my redz squeegie is to short for me to swab the barrel on but that is a good thing because second; I don't want to push all the broken crap back into my x-mag's breech so it can foul the next rounds. Taking my barrel apart to keep the rest of my marker clean is worth it to me......:twocents: "Outlaw5"

I realize we all clean our barrels after the game. I want to know specifically if you take it off during a game.

depending on game type and my situation on the field, yes i have, and more than likely again remove my barrel during a game

but i gotta say, it was a lot easier to twist and pull, than it is to sit there and unscrew the dang barrel :coolshades:

Squeegie and a swab and its good to go.. I don't like taking things apart in the field if I can help it.

Not in the heat of a game. I squeegee the barrel on the gun with the swab end and shoot through any paint left in there.

two rubs through with my plunger and shoot away. I like watching the first couple balls go everywhich way until it get a little cleared up.

Nope. I try to use barrels like a fibur that will shoot through breaks. I'd rather be able to spray junk at someone that be useless.

I'll do it off field.

I used to. Then I found out that most of the time I can just shoot through it.

really ? to be honest since I started shooting Mag's with level X's , I don't even carry a squeegee on the field any more , so i'd have to say no

Level X and Rain X. Then forget about cleaning you barrel all day long. If you do happen to get a barrel break it cleans/straightens out after a couple shots.

I would never play with a gun that required me to carry a squeegee.

if it's a bad break then yes i do so i can do a straight pull/push through instead of risking more paint/shell getting stuck in the barrel from an improper clean.

i'm ashamed to say it, but after all this time, i still don't even have a squeegee.

I wont remove it on the field. Ill go off to a staging area to clean it out.
I will swab it on the field...but not remove the barrel itself.

I dont. I tend to get myself into situations that wont allow me the time. I just shoot through it. (what the strait shot squeegie doesnt get that is)

Ive never heard of the rain-x trick. Seems brilliant to me. Im going to try it. Works great on my car at least.

I never take my barrel off on the field. My E-Mag never breaks paint, so no need.

i carry a squeegie, sometimes 2, ill swap my barrel if i get a barrel break, if its bad, then ill either call myself out, speedball, or get cover and take the barrel and breech off , woodsball, big games..

Yes and it sure was nice for the breech to cooperate and come with wasn't it?

Yes, I have removed my barrel midst a CFOA game to clean it. Does no good to shoot if you can't hit anything.

What have you up that sleeve Rogue?

No, I don't. A straitshot then a swab does the trick wonderfully. I never really break paint unless I'm running too small of a barrel though. A good board with good eye logic or the 4 eye kit have solved the problem for me.

I do it with a straight shot too. That's all you need, rather all I need. I have a hip holster for it.

In the middle of a firefight, I just instaswab. But if I have the time to spare the extra 10 seconds, which is the usual case, then yea I remove the barrel and do a real swab.

Straight Shot Squeegee, with the cloth at one end and plunger at other.

Used my SFL all day today at a Scenario. Regardless of LvL 10, or da eyes being on, still had a couple o chops. Realized later in the day, I was missing the foamie on my bolt... But in any case, used the Squeegee quite a decent amt...

Just realized we dont' have an edit button on posts.

Never taken the barrel fully off during a game, unless its a major issue (nvr have yet). Wait til im back off the field, to de-barrel, de-module, and clean out that area good.

yea I take mine off sometimes, but during a speedball game I'll just straight squeegee down my barrel and hope for the best.

i use a straight shot barrel squeegee that folds in my pocket, it that dont take care of it i will quickly remove the barrel depending on the stage of the game. I have also been known to carry my WWa front in my pocket if i get goobed up good, and switch. However those days are few and far between with agood paing and a level X

12-10-2007, 05:47 AM
yeah i'll do it when ever it comes down to it. i would rather get shot fumbling with my barrel than get shot because i couldn't hit my opponent.

now if its just me against the other team at that point......HELL NO, i would rather my paint go every which way! being bunkered is one thing..........getting shot while cleaning your barrel is a whole-nother situation.

never need to remove the barrel... I've been using EGOs and cockers mostly and they both have the quick bolt removal for a full squeegee-ing if they get real messy.

I play mostly woodsball, so unless I'm fending off a whole squad by myself, I'll take it off and do a quick cleaning.

Zeroack

Yes...but only if it's really really bad. Also usually only if it's in a scenario. I've never taken it off in a speed ball game.

You need to make more posts to be able to edit.

Lately, I've stopped using a squeege during a game much less taking a barrel off. I just shoot a few shots through to try and clear the barrel and live with it.

Correct me if im wrong, but i was under the impression that removing your barrel in game is illegal. Due to it altering velocity and safety issues with bolts and so on. Am I incorrect?

Haven't broken paint since I bought the new Mag, and played 5 times since then. The gun is amazing, and to top it off, I have shot some pretty crappy paint through it!!!

Playing pump almost exlusively YES most definately even during a tournament with limited paint. Having the paint go where ya need it to is too critical, since I have switched to the S6 from the Phantom I forget about the bolt removal... will hafta remember that =P

Since level X I never broke a ball in my gun. Funny thing is I usually carry a squeegie on my leg, but the most use it gets is when I have to throw it to one of my teammates who still haven't figured out that they should convert to mags.
