Is that hammerhead deep enough for an xmag and barrel if i were to cut up some of the bottom layer of foam?

I don't think so. It would need an extra inch to do so.

Hmm, it looks deep enough though. Whats the approximate inside depth?

The bottom tray's inside dimensions are 13.5 long by 7.5 wide by 2 deep. The upper tray is about 1.5 inches deep. I think you're right, you may be able to fit everything in by shaving off some foam.
