So I have been thinking and talking to quite a few industry people and I would like to go out on a limb and make a prediction.
1) The business is and will contunie to take a beating in 2006. National Paintball is not looking good and many fields and businesses are closing up shop.
2) This is caused, amongst other things, by the industry pandering to the wims of 13 year old buyers. These fickle buyers are guided by thier parents expendable income and when fuel prices and other things are very high this business will naturally 'correct itself'.
3) Thus, many of the flash in the pan businesses and trends will dissapear and the more stable demographic will remain.
4) This more stable demographic is the more adult and recreational player (as well as the scenario lot).
5) I think 2006 and the few years to follow will be good ones for pump play. Tippmann does good work and good market research and to see them release a pump should not be taken lightly.
2006 will be the turning of the tide for the pumper.
