I usually get way with stuff like that, but I guess since PBL showed up on their radar all of those little favoritism perks go bye-bye. I would suppose that the powers-that-be would not be too thrilled with the fact that most of their better members now frequent here more. Less traffic means the site is worth less to anyone paying attention to those sort of things.

Plus that butt-munch has friends in high places, well over there at least.

It would make me feel all warm and fuzzy inside if alot of people notice Im gone... thank you guys for noticing (group hug!!).

It's a sad commentary actually. In case you don't know.. Rabiddouchebag is a guy by the name of Steve Davidson who used to work for PTP. Knowing that kinda puts things in a different perspective doesn't it?

However, I hold no grudges against anyone for arguing on the interweb. Most people are different in real life then they portray themselves online and in the end it doesn't really matter.

We are to a point self governing. You might be surprised at what gets reported then we take some kind of action be it a warning or other.

Well, running my own forum I completely understand it. You have alot of vindictive pricks out there in the world. On PBL, there is a whole group of mods that you guys dont even know exist. It's to everyone benefit to keep them anonymous. 2 reasons:

1) PTP & AGD have a long-standing relationship dating back almost a decade now.
2) These guys have known each other since PB was in its infancy. Its what I call the good ol' boy network. Beemer and Rabid know each other well. Remember, Beemer was on the Old SOB's. My memory doesnt serve, but either Rabid was too, or he was on a team that played them often.

There are still some good people lurking around, and a lot of good stuff packed away there. Lots of history.
Eh, there have always been "mass migrations" from AO. It seems to be cyclic.

It is pretty amazing though that with all the views and all the people constantly online there that there really is so little going on. I will stay on board though, I like hearing about the occasional AO South games, etc. I would love to see another AOSE, but there seems to be no intrest.

Doesn't WDP have a part of the Electronic Trigger patent? If you're wondering about how MacDev does it they eventually signed a license with ********** (http://www.68caliber.com/news/industry/story041903.php)

I think WDP threatend to take them into a british court with a prior art(which they have as I understand)cahllenge to the patent in England. If they had won that..... well it would have given MD and others the ammo to stadn up and fight at any rate.

I came out and asked in the G Force thread about the patent issue. Garf claims that they have a US patent, and then told me to "go bug someone else". Seems a bit touchy.
I am curious as to how he got a patent that is apparently already covered by someone else.
It will all come out in the wash I suppose.

I can understand GForce getting touchy when you brought up the patent issue. I realize you may have thought it was an innocent question BUT it was read as a question wrapped in inuendo.

Your question basically said:

"Now that PTP won their lawsuit how are you going to be able to sell a frame that you don't hold a patent on? Or are you going to be unethical and sell it anyways because you are in Canada?"

This kind of statement is obviously bad for business.

But how that has to do with the AO mod staff is what I find interesting.

Thats ok, I posted my own thread. Apparently it was a placement issue. I will just be sure to keep it near their thread for a while.

Apparently PTP has been so deeply involved in litigation that they have had no time to go after all these duplicate patent holders. Hopefully it will also give them the time to take the frame to production, which was supposed to be a long time ago.

I am not against people getting the product they want. But to basically illegally produce in item and take it to production is no better than some other business practices that we all hate so.
They may have a patent, but they aren't stupid and know it was obtained in a questionable way or time.

Respecfully Dave, I dont agree. Tom spends more of his time these days doing the astronomy and dino-digging thing. Ive traded e-mails with him when he was out digging them up this summer.

Tom doesnt do his own moderating, he has others do that for him. That dates all the way back to Comprado, Gunga, Cphil, Miscue, etc. I remember a while back when he told the mods(including you) to drop the hammer on the forum crap.

He may own the site but he doesnt pay for its upkeep, Zupan does. So the only guy who feels the consequences of poor decisions is Zupe when the sales dont come in.
