I just finished my first ever in trial Jury Duty service. Being the first time ever being in a Jury I thought it would be a light/easy case but I was wrong. I got a murder trial and it lasted 11 business days, one of which was my birthday. After going through this process and seeing how little evidence there really was, I can really see how it takes forever and a day to even get to court. i don't know if I'm more angry at I had to spend 11 days on a totally obscene case or that it even had to go to trial.

Anyone else have any experience like mine?

I can honestly be thankful that Ive never had an experience like yours. After the OJ trial, I am very skeptical of the jury system.

Luckily, I am opinionated which usually is not something that at least 1 of the 2 lawyers wants on the jury.

Hey:

Actually I just got summoned... I'm trying to decide if bringing my newspaper with me and informing them that, "I don't think the police would ever arrest someone who wasn't guilty" will get me off or not.

I got a letter from them once. Fortunately for me I got it @ 6mo after I was scheduled to be there. I called, and they didn't care. I hope to never have to sit through one.

actually from what ive heard, if you trash the letter, they have no way to verify if you received it

when you call in, thats when they know you got it

IDK, my neighbor didn't go and got a $450 fine for it and that was a few years ago
