Finally got the Valhalla Project finished using these guys:

http://arnoldmetalfinishing.com/anodizing.html

Give them a specific inventory list and let them know what you expect and I had good luck with getting back a clean finished product.

Spin off of the guy that does guitars and things. He did the emags back in the day. They don't do much besides fades and solid colors but I like working with them.

I know of one other place that is in Cali that is decent but I don't like how they don't return calls and take longer to turn parts around so I won't recommend them.

Who have you all had success with?

Just had Arnolds here in Santa clara do this for me. Call during business hours and ask for Daniel. he always answered when i called. This took a total of three weeks. It needed lots of polishing work to.

I think I may be going blind, though is there anywhere on their website that they have colors or designs or what not listed? I can't seem to find anything like that on their website.

If you really look you might find colors but they are really a send it in and tell us what you want kind of company. They do a great job matching colors.

I called the Arnold people for a quote a few weeks back and they did *NOT* inspire confidence over the phone. I wanted a part masked off and the guy I spoke to was utterly stupefied by the concept of what I was describing. "... Masking? I've never done anything like that before. We mostly do Bob Long stuff. Have you heard of Bob Long guns?"

I had much better success when I talked to Ano Tech Metal Finishing ( www.atmf.com ). Give Kelly a call and get a quote. Their prices are very competitive and they seem to have brains.

Don't most paintball anodizers know what masking is? - Eric

Ya i guess masking is an unknown there. I must have gotten lucky with all the masking they did on the striping on the 37 pieces of my marker, and the set pin, and the ring and washer in the main body.... If you want something custom done, send it in(totally broken down) addressed to Arnold, with instructions, a color sample and your phone #. I dont think you spoke to the right person Bones, Arnold is who i spoke to the first time.

There was a reason i did not go with ATMF. They were not confident on the valve and wanted me to drill out a set pin. They also did not like the fact there were three different types of aluminum on this marker. Otherwise they were #2 on my list. My list only had two.

For a viking(because they are a simple ano job) i would go with ATMF, they are cheaper and reliable.

Will ATMF do the polishing work? I didn't see it on their website.

Thanks:cheers:

ATMF's quote on the stuff I wanted done was so good, she actually asked me not to repeat the price she gave me because "you're probably getting a good deal here but this sounds like fun so whatever."

Hush you

But yeah Ano Tech is my new anodizer for my larger projects due to their pricing structure. Rather then charging per part they charge per bath, so it leads to be very cost effective to go all out on it.

Stayhuge: Prices start at $90 for single color ($45 for stripping and beadblast/polish + $45 for anodize)

At the very least, I'd avoid garage/basement/home anodizers.
Yes, some have had good results but very inconsistent.

ATMF will do my next project as well. Assuming i can get them to mask off the set pin. I want to compare the two companies. It cost 325 at Arnolds for the parts i had done, but that was 37 pieces.

ATMF and Arnold were on my list, after I had learned that PK isn't what they used to be.

I've got something special in store for an old cocker...I'll have to give ATMF a call this next week.

can either of those companies polish before annoing? I have something that has been bead blasted that I want polished out.

I was worried about this to with the heavy dust on the ego frame. But yes, they can polish out just about anything that is not a deep gouge.

For some reason the ATMF site does not work for me?

Please try this one:

http://www.atmf.com/

They did my 07 Borg and 04 Pro Stock. Both were gloss black so no brainers. Really just to try them out. They are in process of my 04 Excal--gloss red/gloss black splash.

Hill--Arnold did an excellant job on your mag; esp matching with 3 different types of aluminum.

ATMF finally got back to me. I guess they didn't have the purple dye in stock to make a sample for me and they waited until they were able to do that. Which I think was awesome. I'm sending my T2 in to get reanodized and parts of it teflon coated so we will see how that goes.

MorueM

What is and what does that teflon coating?

TheePsycho
02-24-2011, 07:09 PM
Teflon coating is kind of like what is on a non stick pan but this is clear. Teflon coating is supposed to be really smooth and non stick surface. Just doing it to see what the pump stroke will be like.
