View Full Version : Thinking about a new 4500 tank

The only 4500 tank I currently own is a Flatline. It works, but parts are hard to come by.

I am thinking about buying a new 4500 tank, and since I don't really follow whats new out there I figured I'd ask for opinions.

I need it to be high pressure as it will be doing double duty on either my Emag or cocker, depending on which I decide to play with on any given day.

Light weight is a plus. Not a fan of the peanut tanks. 68ci is what I'm used to. What other tank sizes are out there?

Doesn't need to be the fastest thing out there, because I sure am not.

So what is the new "in thing" currently out there, and what should I be looking at paying for it? Or has regulator tech pretty much leveled out and it doesn't really matter anymore.

Opinions are requested and welcomed. Thanks.

I think this all still pretty much holds true:

Thanks for the link, but it does not need to be adjustable. Just looking for a good screw in tank. I should have been more clear on that.

my favorite lately has been ninja, hands down

they are long enough that they work with pretty much any bottomline (beleive it or not, the shortness no guerillas CAN be a problem) the make a traditional 68 cu bottle, they are user serviceable and adjustable (they have shimms you can add or remove to the spring pack for pressure ranges from 400 to about 800), and if its not light enough for you, you can get an aluminum bonnet, and take off 1/3 of the weight of the bottle

Seconding Tracker's recommendation for Ninja tanks. Exceptional tanks. 68/4500 is my size of choice as well. Prior to ninja tanks, I used nothing but Crossfire tanks, and still use them religiously. I LOVE crossfire tanks.

Another major brand now-days would be Guerrilla Air, although I've heard up and down stories about them from many different people.

Currently use a crossfire 68/4500 when ever I play. Love the tank, regulator is very consistant, and keeps up with shooting fast when needed.

I also have a gurilla air tank and it has major shootdown problems. I did get it when they first came out and they have supposedly fixed this now. As was mentioned, the short reg is a problem on them and prevents them from fitting many bottomlines or drops.

The Ninja's are great. I've got one on my 45/45 and the whole team's pretty much been converting to them. We get a pretty good deal through our sponsor, though.

Ninja is the way to go for preset tanks.

Looks like the Ninja tanks are highly recommended. I appreciate the input. I'll start looking around.

Thanks again.

My wife and I have a couple of ninja tanks
We think they are great
Any time any of our regs need to be replaced on our other tanks ( pure energy) we just replace it with a ninja reg
The are high quality and formthe most part reasonably priced
I would highly recommend ninja regs and tanks

Blenn,

I moved from a 45k flatline to a Ninja as well. If you haven't already picked one up, you won't be sorry when you do. When I put that reg on, it was the first time my mag was ever really happy. The recharge rate is so fast and consistant you can RT easier on lower pressures than anything else.

I'm sure the flatline was wonderful in its glory days, but the reg seat was shot and it never worked for me.

Ninja, or Crossfire. They both have very nice regs. Ive been shooting my crossfire for nearly 4 years and its still damn consistent and Ive never had trouble besides a VERY tiny leak from the threads on the fill nipple.

Highly recommend a Ninja tank. There are a limited number of 70/45s for sale. I can't tell the difference in size (if any) from my Ninja 68/45. It'll give you a few extra shots.

I picked up a 70/45, and like MeŠiC said, there doesn't seem to be much difference from a 68/45. My 68/45 tank covers fit. Wish I would have waited to find that out as I ordered a 70ci Dye cover and didn't notice its for a peanut 70, so it wont fit. Oh Well.
