Here are some quick picks of my newly arrived SFL. These were taken after I spend about two hours cleaning her up.

note the ugly scratch near the breech

To my horror... I found the breech like this. I spent about half an hour with a dremel, file, and some emery cloth remedying this mess.

And here's another shot of the gun. Note the big scratch clearly visible.

The gun arrived looking like it had been treated like a rental Tippman. Paint was caked on so bad I had to resort to Grease Lightning to remove it. I had seriously considered completely stripping the marker and putting in in the dishwasher.
Once I cleaned it up as best I could, I completely rebuilt the valve, charged the battery, and adjusted the trigger and plunger rods to spec. When I gassed it up, not surprisingly it fired in E mode a few times and crapped out. A little more tinkering didnt help, so time to order a new solenoid for her.
I plan on restoring this gun back to its original glory, actually, maybe even making it better than it was. Atach will be receiving the breech for some feed neck loving, and then after I get it all up and running the whole thing will go off to Gruntbull for some fresh anno
Looks real clean for being a mess, I took on a few projects like this. Dont know how people let there markers come to that. I

I we really surprised when I got it. I dunno maybe it was just because I figured a SFL would be treated like gold.
I have some plans for her I'll tell you that. Im probably going to do a ground up restoration. I already have spoken to Gruntbull for the anno, but right now my priority it to get it running properly.
Im going to have to start looking for some parts. Probably going to get a new barrel to go with it, and try to get my hands on another valve.

Hey I contacted ODD about having it Aurora'd. They want $2k! LOL I had to refrain from giving them the Bronx Cheer in a reply.

Yes sir. Dust silver. Its a little beat up, tough to tell from the pics. I plan on having it redone in the original colors with maybe a matching valve.
i always thought it looked more blue, nice marker bud, welcome to the club

I got REAL lucky. Just so happened to stumble upon Edweird's post on the Thorums. I got a 'relatively' good deal on it. (Relative when compared to what other SFLs have sold for)
Since I lost out on another one to Atach, I was doubly thrilled to swipe it out from under him. :-)

No. Surpringly, Shocktech drilled one of the ball detent holes wrong an ALL of the SFL breeches. The one on the drivers side is usually blocked off with a tab from the feedneck that they keep a little long. Well, the previous owner had a plug in the hole instead of a dummy detent, and bent the damn tab in - which stopped the gun from firing. Took about half an hour of filing and sanding to fix it.

Tuna used to ano new raw valves from AGD and then went through the process of having them engraved with serial numbers and what not, so there is a warranty on the valve. Gruntbull reano's valves at your own risk and voids warranty.

Thanks everyone. If you have seen the new pic I posted in my gallery thread, Atach has already performed the feed neck mod for me. I have a few new parts en route and am preparing it for anno.

XMagworld.com is down for some reason.
I think we should start a completely new database on here and find all the guns, with owner names, user names, and serial numbers of valves.
Backups of the beautiful is NEVER a bad thing!!!!!

I would like to offer my time and services to help with this endeavor.
Does anyone know what happened to XMagworld? Is the database still available but just offline? Might make things easier if we could get our hands on the old data to work from. If this is recreated from scratch what fields do people think should be included in the database? I never saw the xmagworld site so I have no idea what type of data they where collecting.

Not that it would be needed but it looks like the domain name will be available after March if it is not renewed.

We could probably incorporate something like that into the gallery here. It couldn't be a separate entity like XMW, but there could be a separate gallery for Xmags and SFL's with the same info. (Name, serial number, specs, etc)
