I'm sure everyone has noticed the increased popularity of concentrated laundry soap. What annoys me is that while the bottle size has decreased, the cap has stayed the same. Now, if I'm like most people, my mother taught me that a full cap is the proper amount of soap for a normal full load. If you read the directions on the concentrated bottle, you now only use half a cap for normal loads. I believe this is intentional, they sell us concentrated soap with full sized caps knowing that most people will use the standard full cap measurement, essentially doubling their sales. Anyways, I just had to vent, it's been annoying me for years. Does anyone think it is actually intentional, or could there be a sound reason for the cap size?

If I see the word CONCENTRATE, I automatically skin down the amount used.

We always used half a cap on the regular stuff. It's always worked just fine, even on my paintball gear =P

Haven't seen the concentrated stuff, though.

We always use a half cap for regular loads
And a full cap for big loads or really dirty stuff

I don't even use liquid laundry soap anymore. I have my wife get Charlie's Soap, a powder detergent. One level scoop for each full load, and they give you the scoop to use.
