Anyone get a chance to shoot the DYE SLG, or any of the SmartyPartys new lineup yet? How bout the Mac Dev Droid? <- Is this similar to the Threshold from DP?
Just curious what the general consensus on these new entrants into the low to high end field are.
Figured someone around here might have got to pull some triggers down at Cup.

A buddy of mine shot the new Dye marker, and he said that smart parts and their *** are screwwwwwwwwwed. Once he lets me even look at it (I have the touch of death with his markers) I can say more.
i dont like the look of the driod, the threshold looks nice though, as far as the dye sear tripper, its got me curious if anything

I am interested to know what everyone thinks of the SLG too. It's my understanding it was created in part to convert mag owners to Dye.

Well.. someone at Dye really must not be paying attention then. It's not just the gun why we choose AGD.

got to hold and shoot the new ** stuff today at the local store, very cheap feeling, more so than the first time i picked up an ***. the tactical one selling for 159 will turn some head though, but i dont like the hardline bottomline.

As Big-E stated....it ain't the marker...its the company, customer service, the people in AO and here at the "Legion Forward" that stay outside the mainstream as we know AGD rocks!!!! I held the marker today but didn't get a chance to shoot it. It felt a little lighter than a rail and just as composite as the rail. I'm interested in how it shoots but I don't think I'll be trading in my X-Mag anytime soon.....no A-Tach...I won't be parting with it. "Outlaw5"

I think the SLG was created to beat the ***, not much else

From a few different sources, all close to Dye.

I am intrigued by the dye sear tripper too. We will have to see what kind of response it gets in the reviews too.
there was a post on ao about a guy who got one and tore it apart, didnt look to complicated

I've held the Droid and it is a very nice marker. I love MacDev products. They are very high quality with some of the tightest tolerances in the industry. If I had $1100 sitting around I would most certainly buy a Droid.

I am tempted to get an SLG for a first electro, maybe a PMR...Id love an e-mag....but cost is a little prohibitive from what I can see.
Anyone got info on EGO's....I know a few people who have them and love them!
But...expensive! One thing I do like about the EGO/E-TEK is that they look at least a little different.
I am such a whore for good industrial design.

EGOs are awesome- I love mags and all, but times change... Anyway, I;ve gone through all sorts of guns, but have been using EGOs for awhile now- they are fast, reliable and SUPER easy to maintain. No hundred oRings to keep lubed, etc. ETeks (I also have one of those) are about 85% of the performance at less than 50% of the cost.

My local shop has Eteks for $500 and I will be getting one if they still have them after X-Mas. I did play around with the SLG a bit and having never owned an Elctro I have nothing to compare it to so all I can say is my Tac-One is much cooler.

Have to admit I still want a 07 borg (possibly an 08 when they come out in a couple months) but with the return of timmies in the form of the protege/vice for basically half the price of a borg I am taking a good hard look at one. Course in a perfect world I'll have a borg and a vice and several others :D
Although I may wait on the vice until I can get a black dust gun with red or deep green (not olive, closer to a mountain dew color just darker) tubes (provided they are visible on the vice). All depends on the body design of the vice since nothing has leaked yet (shakes fist), if I don't like it I may just get a protege and just turn it into a vice myself.
Damn fart parts and no resale value  keeping me from getting what I really want

I posted a picture of my new SLG in the Marker Gallery. If needed I can take some additional pictures of the internals. So far I really like it... smaller than my PM6 and PMR and lighter as well. Need to get the tank filled so I haven't shot it yet, but from what I've seen on-line it shoots just as well or better than the PMR. For the price I don't think you can beat it...

rogue, i would think the people at DYE of all places would understand that its a completely demographic the markers are aimed at.
slg-cheap light mid entry level tourney marker that is built with profit margin in mind.
ags=no expence spared in a rugged marker that will last forever
im tempted to ask around at DYE when we place our next order and see if i can verify any of this. And if it is true i suspect either mag owner are only part of their audience and an attempted userbase like anything else.
im curious to see how well these SLG holds up.
first impressions-new reg is far too small and thin threaded and will break with a hard or maybe not so hard fall.
frame appears to be solid, the "sear" is a questionable piece of equipment

yep, folks are selling their ions and STF and even NXT for well under 50% than they paid for them at the shop in Smyrna, then the store takes 10% for handling the purchase and putting it on the wall. Ions = 100-150(with ups)
STF (150-300) NXT (250-up)
Its amazing this time a year as the agglets try and sell their stuff to upgrade at Christmas.
