Well, Seeing how I am banned over on AO, I feel like this a place where it needs some loving.

VIDS!!!!!!

First stages.....

Chronoing.....

Well, not totally from scratch. I'm going to use a palmer's reg, an automag UMF frame, and a mag rail.
The cad rendering actually shows an Airwalk frame... not a UMF.
Discuss.

Weight of the model as pictured: 17.74oz (so with reg, ASA and barrel probably a bit under 2 lbs)
Will be 6061-T6 aluminum with hard coat anodizing
All reciprocating parts/surfaces will have .005" of radial clearance after anodizing.
Minimum factor of safety to yielding is over 2x even @ 400psi dump chamber pressure (which is way over pressure). So basically it can take 800 psi and still be intact. Obviously that would damage the orings first.
Cyclic rate @ 50psi and 4way valve: 29-34 cps
Cyclic rate @ 50 psi and 3way valve: 27-32 cps
(these rates assume 10ms solenoid energize/denergize, 15ms of dwell, negligible oring friction, and no flow restriction)

Somes pics...

Sorry about the not great quality. I couldn't get a real camera so I broke down and decided to use my phone to take the pics. Pictured is the super shiny smooth bore in the body, the bolt, the guide, the half assembled gun (not functional yet), and the front oring carrier. I polished the body with a dremmel polishing kit and dropped the parts off at Akron Anodize tonight to get a hardcoat (hopefully black) applied.

The deep female oring groove proved very difficult to execute in real life, so I simply extended the bore into the body and made a stainless steel "staggered floating oring gland" (the oring carrier). The carrier sits in the end of the bore and seals the front LP bolt return chamber.

Will that design be put to the test with a prototype anytime soon?

Note the video of the prototype in his post lol.

Apparently this was made back in november i think, it's pretty damn quiet too.

:wall:Damn i'm slow tonight, atleast my last exam tomorow.

Edit: is there a reason for the handfeed?

Probably just because it's in the testing stages and he doesn't want to risk chopping with it or short stroking with it, because he wants to put an electropneumatic frame on it.

The reason why it was hand fed, is that currently, there's rollback and blowback with the marker.

And also, theres no mounting for the tank yet, so he kinda had to hold the tank while shooting the gun

Editing comes after you've contributed so much to the site, it's in one of the stickies, although i think you should have it by now.

First I've seen of this, looks interesting.

Did you machine the bolt or is it a Quest bolt? Looks very similar ( I want to say the quest bolt is a bit shorter though..Has the same amount of orings as the quest bolt also just an extra piece which I assume is the carrier you mentioned above?) So I think I answered my own question, that it is not a quest bolt...

Joe machined it.

It is very similar to a quest bolt. The dimensions are different and how the o-rings and etc are placed are different.

How's the thing shoot mech? Like is it super easy to short stroke?

Not really to short stroke. Has a nice pull. Then again it was using an autococker 3-way for the time being.

Wow, now that's impressive. I'll be interested to see the final product. Plus, how cool would it be to go to a field and have people ask who made your marker and get to answer "I did!"

Not sure yet. I just finished the 28 page paper today @ 5pm... and I started last night @ 6pm and played 3 hours of warcraft along the way.

I'm pooped. And I'm at work.

Man, a 28 page paper? That sucks.

Well, if you consider it has a title, contents, and one or two other other "fluff" pages. Plus all the diagrams.

It's probably only about 20 pages of just combined text and it's double spaced.

That's still quite a task, although i suppose with what i've had so far is what would make it hard for me to write something that long.

So how much longer till you hook up that electric frame?

Hey Pneu... I have an idea for you to add to your marker... and it would be easy to do.

PM me when you get a chance....

And if possible hit me up on Yahoo messenger as its' easier.... of course get your schooling done first...
