Anybody any good with Cockers?

My 2000 half bolck cocker went to crap at Fox4...:( I used it 2 other times before and cleaned an oiled it when done. over the chrono it was jumping like mad... 258 to 301fps??? I figured it needed to be oiled or something, maybe even more breaking in time being as i just built it like 6 months ago. I was playing getting rushed and i couldnt even shoot 30 ft in front of me with out having to lift the barrel? I went to the chrono after and it was shooting 185???:wall: I dont know what would have caused a drop like that? I tried uping the reg and adjusting the IVG in the back. Nothing changed? Any help would be great as i still cant figure it out....

cockers are evil, but im having way tp much fun ripping my sniper apart every 20 min, i ran out of 12 grams tho, so far i got a light valve spring, pre 2k valve, stock lightning hammer, heavy mainspring, devolumizer, and stock bolt, wwa quick changer 12 gram changer im still trying to get the thing to chrono right, i did finally get it in the 200 range when i ran out of 12 grams, i swapped out the stock trigger springs for the maddman ones and it helped alot, but i had to use the damn heavy manispirng to get it to chrono higher, and that screwed up my pump stroke!!!! argggh, it is kinda fun tho

i have to work...but im going in early and leaving even sooner:D
i should be at the field anywhere between 9 and 11am .
a buddy from work is having a group come so we can get in on that deal.
just tell them that your here with tony and christian, they will hook you up:clap: we are working on the fields as we speak so any input will help.
the speedball field is large and has a good amount of cover with a huge snake.......if you let tony or cyber in there its over!
we should have some nice weather.....but cyber your gonna need a jacket.....you do know what that is :D

I used cockers for several years, just make sure you change one thing at a time. A little time and you should get her dialed in.

That is rather strange. Not knowing your setup, there are a few things I would try.
With your velocity going that low, check to see if you have it timed too tight. IE is the backblock trying to come back faster than its had time to (fully) open the valve? Lots of times if its timed really close this can happen.

Check and make sure your valve nut is still tight and that the valve isn't "wiggling" around. Make sure that the set screw in the bottom hasn't worked loose and your valve turned.

Try turning the pressure really low and slowly raising it and see what the velocity does. You should see it increase, top out, and then start back down. Bring it to the point right below where it tops out. If the velocity is off, then you (may) have a bad spring combo.

The jumping around in velocity can be the result of paint out of round, or bad paint to barrel match. Keep in mind that with a closed bolt marker, you want a slightly tight fit for best results. Take the paint you are using, load one and turn the marker barrel down. If the paint rolls out, your bore is too big and the cause of your velocity problems can stem from there as well.

OK so i was re-checking everthing on the gun. Again...:wall:

I found the problem:
My cocking rod was unscrewing from the ram just a bit. This was far enuff out it was keeping the hammer from going all the way forward. Thats why i couldnt get any higher than 150's. man i didnt even see that... I already have a small gap between the backblock and the body i didnt think it was off any...:confused:

I took an Autococker tech class back in the day, they're nice markers but they can be a real pain sometimes. Cocking rods especially.

Most Autococker problems are solved by doing one simple thing....

Thats why I love Rudz. Most people have parts left over. Rudz throws in extra parts for good measure.
