Please forgive my E-mag newbness...just bought one last week. It didn't come with a charger, and while I will fork over the $80 for one from AGD if I have to, I'd like to try to get a generic charger that will do pretty much the same for less dinero. I've searched on 'that other forum which we shan't speak of' and came up empty.

I ran across this one (http://www.batteryspace.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=2608). Looks like it should work with both the stock AGD battery pack and also the 1000mah ones.

Oh great enlightened ones of PBL, educate me!

you gotta remember that the emag has a special clip that allows you to mount the whole pack and casing to it and charge. so while the pictured item will work you need something else as well which is what makes it expensive. maybe pick up a used one.

I know it won't fit the E-mag battery case like the AGD charger does, but even if I have to buy/make an adapter to clip onto the terminals it should still be way cheaper (if it will work that is.)

I've scoured the forums for a used AGD charger with no luck, and I want to shoot this beauty in electronic mode!

It should work, but the custom clip sounds risky to me. Ever since I friend my board installing a custom pack Ive been reluctant to mess with anything electronics related on my e's.

If you dont have one made up by say Mid-January I might have one to sell ya.

Update:

Got the charger and alligator clip attachment. Works like a charm so far.

Here are details if anyone else is interested:

Charger (http://www.batteryspace.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=2608) : p/n CHUN-1216UD

Alligator clip attachment (http://www.batteryspace.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=2303) : p/n CN-FM-Clips

The charger automatically detects the battery pack's voltage and has dummy-proof LEDs that tell you when the pack is charging, trickle charging, and finally done.

Only charged a couple times so far, so no long-term test results are available.

Should be fine, but no :slap:ing me if it kills your battery pack. :D

that looks like a great charging system at an affordable price.
