Ok...I admit I like the milsim thing.....
I was wondering...do you think you could fit a mag inside of an X-7 shell?
That way you could use all the X-7 cosmetic upgrades...but shoot a mag.....
is this do able you think?

Interesting. Thats a good question. Maybe it would just be easier to mod some of the X7 goodies to fit a tac-1?

I had thought of that....and may eventually try that....but being a klutz thought it may be easier to see if you can drop a mag in the body of an X-7...

The other thing is...where would you attach the X-7 stuff to a mag....would you need to drill holes in the body?

Yes, you can add X7 stuff to a tac:

The downside is you will have to drill some holes. for a mech you will need to drill and tap some holes in the rail for mounting, or come up with some bracket that you mount between your front bottle adapter and the rail. With this setup pictured, i will be making a bracket that screws onto the battery pack, and the screw that originally would be holding the pack, will be used to secure the front guard.

You'd probably have to do extensive work to the X7, and they're magnesium-shelled if I remember correctly so you or whoever is doing it will have to do it very slowly (magnesium chips+heat=big fire)

Not to mention that it could blind you if it catches fire (well it's not good for your eyes at least).

I had though of getting a cheap *** body with rails and putting it over a mag S.S. body. I think with a little bit of cutting it would fit.

Whatever you do, do all the cutting and drilling outside. I've heard about a guy that tried to drill a few holes in a X7 body and he lost a drill press and almost his workshop. When the magnesium is starting to burn there's little you can do to stop it. It burns so hot that water changes to hydrogen and oxigen.
