View Full Version : Asa damaging the threads...

I have on/off's on all my mags but my alien ano micromag. I haven't upgraded the the asa to an on/off because I want to keep the the whole gun uniformed with the ano.

When I am unscrewing my nitros bottle off (with pressure still in it) the pressure in the asa is pushing the bottle out damaging the threads on my bottle. Is there anyway to avoid this without bleeding out the pressure off the bottle from the fill nipple or upgrading to an on/off?

You should always unscrew the bottle a little bit, like 1/2 turn and then fire the gun till it bleeds off the pressure then finish unscrewing the bottle.

Once you get used to doing this it will become second nature.

I used to alway shoot repeatedly while unscrewing the tank.

Just keep pulling the trigger fast while unscrewing the tank. Until the gun stops cycling and the bottle is off.

Of course most places don't like you dry firing but they can :kissass:

Get an on/off that matches everything...dust black=the shecks.

PTP used to send them to some guy in california to be anodised in these crazy paterns, that guy moved back to South Africa. It just wont look good with a on/off that doesn't match.

Hopper off, and either barrel off or barrel condom on. There's really nothing they can complain about if you do that.

I do just what wetwrks said: unscrew the tank a bit, and shoot the air out. I do it on the field though since the people who work at the field i go to are poops.

Yeah... I had one ref insist I put a barrel condom over my Minimag's shroud (no barrel). I'm all for safety, but that's seriously retarded. :oneear:
